Family and friends from present-day Salem and decades ago gather for the memorial service of Doug Williams, one of their most loved citizens, according to the Days of Our Lives spoilers preview. It’s a goodbye to remember filled with unforgettable poignant moments that coincide with the show’s 15,000th episode. Here’s your DAYS video preview for the week of December 2-6, 2024.
Some 11 months after the real-life passing of actor Bill Hayes, Days of Our Lives addresses the death of his beloved character, Doug Williams.“It’s time… time to say goodbye,” says Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) softly clutching and leaning into a large framed portrait of Doug. The poignant scene reflects Seaforth Hayes’ immeasurable love for her late husband, Bill Hayes, and Julie’s love for her onscreen one, Doug.
DAYS marks a milestone this week, too, the show’s 15,000th episode. Abe (James Reynolds) and Paulina (Jackée Harry) clink champagne flutes with Eli (Lamon Archey) and Lani (Sal Stowers). In contrast, Roman (Josh Taylor) clinks shot glasses with Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Steve (Stephen Nichols).
“I wonder who’s going to come back for his memorial,” ponders Kayla. The answer is many of Salem’s most popular characters, past and present. Belle (Martha Madison) turns up at Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) penthouse. Meanwhile, Ciara (Victoria Konefal) holds the open time capsule box that was found in the Horton home as Lucas (Bryan Dattilo), Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) look on.

There’s a flashback shot of Julie and her brother, Steve (Stephen Schnetzer), when he suddenly appears at her front window. “Hi, sis,” he says. “Long time no see.” That long time is actually 45 years, and Julie gasps with joy.
But not every reunion is as sweet. Liz (Gloria Loring) bumps into her old nemesis, Marie (Maree Cheatham), at Horton Square, and the tension between the two women is intense.
“You’re not that delighted to see me, Marie,” taunts Liz. Marie stares back at her steely-eyed.

Finally, the focus shifts back to Doug’s memorial service. “I lost the love of my life,” Julie opens up to the assembled guests, as Eli and Ciara both shed tears listening to her heartbreaking words. “But I feel love all around me from all of you.”
That love lasts all week long. Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) comforts JJ (Casey Moss) with a hug. Finally Hope (Kristian Alfonso) arrives at her father’s grave site and places a bouquet of flowers atop it. “I love you so so much,” she sobs, kneeling down and touching Doug’s tombstone with her hand in a perfectly poignant ending.
