Days of our Lives spoilers for Tuesday, September 24, unveil the full, soapy glory that is Body & Soul, as the cast has a photo shoot…and the reality of filming a daily show sets in.

Page One Rewrite

Leo (Greg Rikaart) got spoiled writing his Lady Whistleblower column. Most days, neither Chad (Billy Flynn) nor Xander (Paul Telfer) seemed to care what he was publishing, so he had free reign to do and say what he liked.

That’s not how television production works, alas. TV is a team effort, not a one-man band. Leo thinks his Body & Soul scripts are brilliant. Don’t change a word. (And send copies to Aaron Sorkin, David Mamet, and Shona Rhimes so they can see how it should be done.) However, Johnny (Carson Boatman) doesn’t agree. He’s not pleased with what Leo turned in. He’s going to need some changes. Get ready for Leo’s hysterics to be neverending.

Act Two

Johnny will likely be even less pleased when he has to direct love scenes between his wife, Chanel (Raven Bowens), and the guy she once had a threesome with, Alex (Robert Scott Wilson). Maybe those are the changes he asks Leo for? However, if that’s the case, he is being extremely unprofessional and, even worse, forcing us to side with Leo.

On the other hand, if Chanel runs to her husband, the show’s director, to demand those changes, then she is the one being unprofessional. At the moment, she is just unhappy. Maybe she can turn to her mother instead. Paulina (Jackée Harry) will do anything for her baby, even if that means making Chanel’s stepfather, Abe (James Reynolds), act unprofessionally, too.

Creative Differences

But Abe and Kate (Lauren Koslow) may have their hands full with two more divas, Bonnie (Judi Evans) and Hattie (Diedre Hall). Yeah, Leo, soaps are definitely a collaborative art. Still excited to be a part of it?
