Spoilers photos for the July 22, 2024 episode of Days of Our Lives – which just announced a writing shakeup – tease the aftermath of the unexpected wedding guest.

Just as Xander (Paul Telfer) and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) are about to say ‘I do,’ they’ll be interrupted at the altar by Xander’s mother (Serena Scott Thomas, who made her DAYS debut). It looks like she’ll introduce herself to her new daughter-in-law and greet her son, while Theresa (Emily O’Brien) sits beside her groom and worries about being caught.
It may not take long for drama to go down when Theresa approaches the altar while Justin (Wally Kurth) and Bonnie (Judi Evans), along with Sonny (Zach Tinker), Paul (Christopher Sean), and Andrew (Colton Little) look on.
Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Xander’s mother will share words that lead to him pointing an accusing finger at his new wife, and his Sonny and Justin will later comfort him.
Meanwhile, Xander May share his concerns with Sarah before going home to the mansion and drinking his trouble, throwing a glass at his uncle’s portrait.
Roman (Josh Taylor) will take an important phone call while Leo (Greg Rikaart) inappropriately offers cake to Sonny and Paul.
As the night comes to an end, it appears Alex may find comfort in his ex, Stephanie (Abigail Klein), while a lone Theresa worries she just lost it all.
