Days of our Lives spoilers for Tuesday, July 22 demonstrate that no, Melinda hasn’t learned her lesson since almost losing her license for helping Sloan steal Nicole’s baby, as she helps Sophia pull a similar con on her mom and Tate.

Next on DAYS

Sophia (Rachel Boyd) gave birth and left her baby at the firehouse because she didn’t feel ready to be a mom, and feared Tate (Leo Howard) and Amy (Shi Ne Nielson) would make her keep and raise him. Now, Melinda (Tina Huang) has helped cook up a scheme where Sophia will claim to have given birth in Chicago and given her “daughter” to adoptive parents immediately.

Yeah. No way that can go wrong. Especially now that Amy has crossed paths with little Tesoro. And likely noted there aren’t that many Asian families in Salem, and maybe the little foundling she met isn’t just a random, motherless newborn.

The Parent Trap

Another baby up for grabs is little Victoria Kiriakis. Both Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Xander (Paul Telfer) want sole custody. Xander currently has the girl with him, though he can’t seem to get her to settle down without Gabi (Cherie Jimenez), but Sarah is plotting how to get her back. In the meantime, she just worries.

Do these people not live in a world where joint custody is common? Even if they both want sole custody, a judge can still tell them to start acting like adults and share.

Sick in the Head

EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) now owns University Hospital, and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) is furious. EJ is making her stick to a budget rather than do whatever she wants and worrying about who will pay for it later.

We can only hope EJ also institutes stricter security protocols so DNA tests will actually have some validity, dead people stay dead, and the hospital isn’t constantly open to lawsuits. Isn’t he a monster?
