Days of our Lives spoilers for Wednesday, January 8, demonstrate that Julie isn’t even close to getting over grieving for Doug—and that young Doug is here to take advantage of it.
I’ll Be There For You
Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) has resigned herself to believe that her brother, Stephan (Stephen Schnetzer), was the one who made off with Grandma Alice’s (Frances Reid) necklace, and she’s decided to let it go. We, of course, know that it was her newfound stepgrandson, Doug III (Payten Meyer), who allowed Leo (Greg Rikaart) to talk him into convincing himself that he didn’t do anything wrong.
He needed the money; the other Hortons did it; ergo, he’s just taking care of himself…like Grandpa Doug (Bill Hayes) would have wanted him to. We’re sure Doug III will keep telling himself that as he watches Julie suffer. Hey, he tried to cheer her up! They’re even!

And I’m Not Getting Married
Sophia’s (Madelyn Kientz) mom, Amy, has made herself clear: Her daughter and Tate (Leo Howard) will be getting married shortly, and they’ll be raising their baby in wedded bliss. The end, no discussion needed. Tate doesn’t want to get married. Brady (Eric Martsolf) is happy to back him up.
Meanwhile, Sophia, who isn’t happy about her mom’s ultimatum, is, nonetheless, happy to fill Holly (Ashley Puzemis) in on the latest developments. Good thing she has Doug III to cheer her up, too.
Tell Me Sweet Little Lies
Ava (Tamara Braun) hired Steve (Stephan Nichols) to track down who’s been sending her threatening texts. Steve’s sleuthing proved that the texts were coming from inside the DiMera house.
So, naturally, Ava assumes she was right the first time, and Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) is behind them. She heads over to confront her former friend, and Kristen plays innocent. Because Kristen is innocent. It’s Rachel (Finley Rose Slater). Though, of course, once she finds out, we expect Kristen to give her daughter a big hug and buy her a new pony. It’s not like she’ll be against it.
