What will Melinda Trask do next?
DAYS spoilers teased that Melinda did not have a good week. Newly installed Mayor Paulina Price fired her. Twice. Both times for illegal reasons. Then Li revealed he knew she was playing him — and that he’d played her right back.
Melinda (Tina Huang) took her ire out on a poor, defenseless teddy bear…and then started considering her next steps. Here’s what may happen next.
Melinda can hang out her own shingle. She has two great cases already open. Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) wants Melinda to help her and Eric (Greg Vaughan) adopt a baby. And with a pregnant Nicole (Arianne Zucker) hanging about, things are about to get very sticky.
Plus, there’s the wrongful termination suit she absolutely must file against Paulina (Jackée Harry). The vengeful vixen flat-out admitted that she was firing Melinda not due to weak job performance but because Paulina was petty and spiteful. And that’s against the law. Hope Li’s (Remington Hoffman) spy bear recorded that bit, too.
This is all Li’s fault — according to Melinda. How dare he figure out that she was conning him and take it personally? Is that really something to dump a woman over? Melinda needs to get her revenge. She should find a way to put him in jail, anyway. Even if she isn’t the DA anymore. Even if she has to frame him for her murder.
But more likely than these other scenarios tells us that Melinda must keep her eyes on the prize. She should do anything she needs to in order to get her job back. Forget Li, forget Sloan’s baby rabies and just focus on doing what you do best. Otherwise, crime in Salem will be even more rampant than it is now.
