DAYS spoilers promise more scenes of Marlena pasting on a fake smile and reassuring Eric that she has no problem with Sloan. If Eric is happy, Marlena is happy. She can’t wait to get to know Sloan better.

Sure, Marlena (Deidre Hall) seems like an accepting person. She tolerated Nicole (Arianne Zucker) when she was married to Eric. She was pleasant to Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) for Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Rachel’s (Finley Rose Slater) sakes. She smiled politely at EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) for Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Johnny (Carson Boatman). Heck, her own daughter is Sami. Marlena can accept a lot!
DAYS: She’s the One
Except Sloan (Jessica Serfaty). Sloan is worse than everyone who ever came before her. Even if Sloan proves to be an excellent mother to the baby she and Eric are planning to adopt, that won’t be enough for Marlena. Marlena wants her children to be happy. But with caveats.
DAYS Spoilers: Do Not Cross
Marlena believed that EJ loved Sami. Marlena believed that Nicole loved Eric. Marlena even believed that Kristen had a sick, unhealthy — yet sincere — obsession with Brady. Alas, Marlena does not believe that Sloan loves Eric. And that’s a deal breaker for Marlena. She admitted that she doesn’t know Sloan very well, but she is a psychiatrist. She knows how to read people. And Marlena has decided Sloan’s feelings for Eric aren’t genuine. So that’s that.
Marlena will smile at Sloan, and Marlena will go to dinner with Sloan, and Marlena will cootchie-cootchie-coo over the child Sloan and Eric adopt. But she will never trust her. And she will never accept her even as she pretends otherwise.
