Will Nicole Walker grow closer to Eric now?
Alas, poor EJ; DAYS spoilers suggest he’s in for a long, hard time of it, now that big sister Megan has conked him over the head and stashed him in the DiMera mansion’s wine cellar. EJ told Megan he was going to warn Stefan that she was plotting to kill him. Megan wasn’t about to let him do that. So as long as EJ is alive, Megan can’t let him out. People are going to notice the absence eventually…right?
Sure, Megan (Miranda Wilson) can forge some texts to make it seem like EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) has taken off on a last-minute business trip. Nobody will question it initially. Except for maybe Nicole (Arianne Zucker).
As far as Nicole knows, she and EJ just found out they’re going to have a baby. But her pregnancy is still very high-risk. She and EJ had an appointment with a fertility specialist. Nicole is going to wonder why he’s a no-show – not even so much as a video pop-in.
Remember what happened the last time Nicole’s partner wasn’t around when she needed him? Eric (Greg Vaughan) took off for Africa, and, at first, Nicole was all supportive and understanding. But then she got bored and slept with Xander (Paul Telfer). She doesn’t do well alone.
Nicole kind of, sort of admitted to Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) that she wished the paternity test had gone the other way, and Eric turned out to be the dad. And if there is one thing we know about Eric, it’s that he likes to play hero.
So put Nicole’s inability to entertain herself together with Eric’s mad desire to be a dad, and then EJ’s seeming abandonment begins to seem like a golden opportunity for them both. Nicole will be all pregnant and sad. Eric will step in to comfort her. One thing will lead to another, and, before you know it, they’re making plans to raise EJ’s baby together. And then…EJ pops up again.
