Days of our Lives spoilers reveal a big surprise for Lani and Eli, but it might not be as welcome as you think. The pair lost a baby two years ago and it might have done more damage to Lani emotionally than anyone imagined.
Little David Abraham was born prematurely due to placenta complications and didn’t make it. Although he was the result of a one-night stand and Lani (Sal Stowers) and Eli (Lamon Archey) were not even an official couple at the time, the loss tore them both apart. Lani eventually became obsessed with another David — the little boy Rafe (Galen Gering) has been raising whose biological parents are Evan (Brock Kelly) and the late Jordan (Chrishell Stause).
In November of 2019, Lani and Eli were in love and all set to wed, but Gabi (Camila Banus) and her handy pacemaker remote app got in the way and the next thing we knew, we were in 2021, Lani was about to become a nun, and Eli was prepared to marry Gabi.
That’s all been cleared up now and Lani and Eli are happily back together. In fact, Eli is the third Salemite to propose for a third wedding planned for this summer. According to the June 2, 2020, issue of Soap Opera Digest, picking a date around the other couples causes Lani to notice another date that’s off.
That then prompts a home pregnancy test and surprise — Lani and Eli are expecting once again. But is this good news or bad news?
Head Writer Ron Carlivati explains in Digest: “While Eli is thrilled, Lani is less thrilled and basically it’s a fear of, ‘I can’t go through this again.’ So, this is something they tackle together and come to a decision about whether or not they can continue with the pregnancy.”
While we do not know what the pair ultimately decides about the baby, we do know they attempt yet another wedding — and end up with uninvited guests?
