News broke last week that once again, Kate Mansi is scheduled to leave the role of Abby Deveraux DiMera on Days of our Lives, but we still don’t have details on how her sudden absence from the canvas will be explained. But there is one big possibility.
Someone has been drugging poor Abby, and it’s been heartbreaking to watch as the hallucinations have continued to take over her reality. Poor Chad (Billy Flynn) seems to be at his wits’ end trying to get her help at the hospital but nothing seems to be making them stop. Which certainly makes one wonder if the drugging is continuing…
After all, shouldn’t they have cleared her system by now? Or did they trigger something in her fragile mental state that can’t be undone? There are several ways the show could take this, including one very upsetting one — that the person drugging her is actually her loving husband, who has unfettered access to her.
Abby already told her father she has complete faith in Chad and that she believes he’s overcome his programming by SteVano (Stephen Nichols) and is back his old self but he’s barely had any therapy! Could he really be perfectly fine or has he embraced the dark side and is able to hide it better now?
No matter how she ended up this way, Abby has been going a bit cray-cray again and therefore is completely unpredictable. If the goal was to get her out of the picture so no one would stand in BadChad’s way again, it could be mission accomplished if Abby simply goes on the run, chased by her imaginary demons.
That seems like a better option than Abby being admitted back to the psych ward for safekeeping — so she won’t be a threat to her family, especially her children. With her on the run, she could show up at any time down the line (when Mansi is available again) to wreak havoc — and we can’t wait! Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC.
