Days of our Lives spoilers for Thursday, May 8 prove that EJ may not have a situation under as much control as he thinks, when Kayla isn’t fooled — or charmed — by his request.

EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) may still be recovering from a gunshot wound and a subsequent coma, but he’s already back to playing 3D chess, mostly with his family and friends. (Well, his family. Does he really have any friends?)
EJ knows Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) is desperate to get her hands on a drug that could save her brother Bo’s (Peter Reckell) life. But Dr. Jeffrey Russell (Michael Dietz) isn’t handing it over. For perfectly rational, professionally noble reasons. Oh, and also because EJ is offering him more money for his research. Kayla won’t let Russell out of his contract. So EJ comes to her with a proposal to benefit them both. Yeah, she’s not feeling it.

Elder Care
Chanel (Raven Bowens) is still upset over losing the chance to adopt Sophia (Rachel Boyd) and Tate’s (Leo Howard) baby. Abe (James Reynolds) murmurs soothing words as she frets. Johnny (Carson Boatman) is still upset over costing Chanel the chance to adopt Sophia and Tate’s baby. Marlena (Deidre Hall) suggests that maybe he should do more than fret. Maybe he should actually, you know, take steps to fix the problem.
Getting Away From It All
Xander (Paul Telfer) has been through a lot these past few weeks. He is looking forward to taking a nice, tropical vacation with his wife, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey).
Sarah is looking forward to getting away from Salem, too. Primarily because their hometown is full of people who know that Sarah was in on Philip’s (John-Paul Lavoisier) plot to steal half of Xander’s inheritance. But will they be able to make a quick getaway?
