Days of our Lives spoilers for Thursday, January 2 finally fill Chanel in on what a good chunk of Salem already knows – her husband slept with Joy. And then lied about it. Over and over again.
Johnny (Carson Boatman) worked so hard to keep his night with Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) a secret from Chanel (Raven Bowens). Especially after he calls Chanel out for cheating on him with Alex (Robert Scott Wilson). He looked like a total idiot when it turned out he was way, way off. Well, now Chanel can throw some choice words back at Johnny. And, this time, be right about what a scuzzball he is.

EJ lost his job. To Belle (Martha Madison), no less. He isn’t pleased. In fact, he vowed revenge. But does that mean he can’t also flirt with Belle? Again? They had some nice chemistry the last time around. They never really got a chance to explore where that might lead. Now might be a good time to pick up that dropped thread. Especially since Belle and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) are totally done for good. This time. And if flirting also leads to whatever revenge EJ is planning? Well, two birds, one stone… for two legal eagles.
First, Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) didn’t even want to go out for New Year’s. Then she decided, what the heck. Then, she met up with JJ (Casey Moss). That made it all more pleasant. JJ, for his part was mad at Gabi. And then he was less mad at Gabi. And then… well, new year, new me… new mistakes to make.
Stephanie (Abigail Klein) needed a date for New Year’s Eve. She went with Philip (Jean-Paul Lavosier). But Philip isn’t who she really wanted. Will she tell him as much, or will she just pretend to love the one she’s with. Kind of.
