The Days of our Lives recap for Wednesday, September 17, 2020, ended the week with a bombshell cliffhanger. John’s personality shifted, Eric’s surprise visitor shook up his world, Xander met Jan, and Sami’s plot to run from Salem was foiled in the best possible way.
It was a rollercoaster ride of a day for Sami (Alison Sweeney). She tried to make amends with John (Drake Hogestyn) but found herself the target of his anger instead. He did not forgive her at all. In fact, he lost it and called her a few choice names instead.
She then went to pick the baby up from Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) and found Nicole (Arianne Zucker) there too. Sami did not like her lurking around one bit. She grabbed the infant from Nicole’s arms and told her to leave.
Sami then decided to take her own advice and get out too. She stated her case to Lucas, commanded him to help her pack, and called the airline. There were just two problems; the baby did not have a passport and Allie! Oh yes, Allie (Lindsay Arnold) is back and she is none too pleased with her meddling mama.
As for John and his outburst, the scene with Sami was only the tip of the iceberg. It seems he is suffering terribly from his aneurysm. He is having problems controlling his emotions, especially anger. He even accidentally snapped at Marlena (Deidre Hall) too.
Nicole got home just in time to see Eric’s (Greg Vaughan) friend, Angie leave. Angie (Nzinga Blake) was there visiting from the Congo with a surprising plea for her favorite priest. Angie was there on behalf of the elders. They needed Eric’s help and she begged him to come back to their village. Eric politely declined. His life was here now. Nicole wondered if that was really what Eric wanted.
Belle (Martha Madison) got a rude awakening when she kicked Jan (Heather Lindell) out of the house. Claire (Isabel Durant) was appalled. If she deserved a second chance, why didn’t Jan? She thought her mother should give the baddie an opportunity to make amends.
Jan ended up in the square and came face to face with Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson). He was already heated after a showdown at the office with Xander (Paul Telfer) and in no mood. Philip told Jan to leave Belle and her family alone, or else!
Xander (Paul Telfer) overhead the whole thing and tried to play nice with the baddie. They have a common enemy so why not be friends? Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
