Vincent Irizarry burst onto the soap scene 35 years ago this year as Guiding Light’s Lujack and since that time he’s popped up on several different daytime dramas as part of many different broods, including on Days of Our Lives as Deimos Kiriakis. Now, the Emmy-winning actor has news to share about his real-life clan!
Vincent Irizarry: Family Man
While soap fans were treated last August to Irizarry’s return to soaps as The Bold and the Beautiful’s Dr. Jordan Armstrong, the actor enjoyed a real-life family reunion that he says, personally, was the best part of the summer.
“Without question, the highlight of my summer’s end, beginning of autumn, was finally having the opportunity to spend an extended time with each of my 4 beloved children, Ash, Siena, Aria, & Elias, and my wonderful daughter-in-law, Janine, while finally meeting my precious granddaughter, Areli,” Irizarry posted on Instagram.
“It’s been [way] too long, all of us living in different parts of the country, conflicting schedules and work commitments. I honestly couldn’t be more proud of each of them, of the young men and women of character and substance they’ve become, nor more grateful for how much they’ve enhanced my life in truly immeasurable, unimaginable ways.
“Additionally, my blessings have been multiplied even greater by the newest addition to my life, our family, in the form of my first grandchild, Areli Jay, who entered our world and grateful lives on Jan 11th off [sic] this year… Yes, my cup runneth over indeed…”
As followers of Irizarry recall, after he left GL, he joined the cast of Santa Barbara as Dr. Scott Clark. Then, he returned to GL as Lujack’s twin, journalist Nick McHenry. After exiting Springfield a second time, he joined the cast of All My Children as Dr. David Hayward, the role for which he won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2009.
Irizarry also spent time in Genoa City as David Chow on The Young and the Restless. Where will Irizarry turn up next? Count on Soap Hub to bring you details when they happen!
