Former soap stars make headlines when they return to daytime. Alas, soap veteran Tyler Christopher has been in the news due to some personal misfortune, and now, a judge has handed down the penalty following the actor’s recent arrest.
Tyler Christopher Update
As previously reported, Christopher was arrested for public intoxication in Martinsville, Indiana on his birthday, November 11. TMZ is now reporting that a judge has fined the actor $440 after the actor pleaded guilty to two counts of misdemeanor public intoxication.
The judge did not order the Emmy-winning actor to enter an alcohol treatment program as police officers had requested in their report. Christopher made restitution to an Uber driver for damage done to his car, but he’s not under any legal obligation to seek treatment for his drinking, unfortunately.
He appears to be keeping a low profile on social media, but colleagues from the daytime world have reached out with words of support for him. And, now, fans of the actor are also letting him know that they care, too, by posting on one of his social media pages under posts created by Christopher unrelated to his current status.

One Christopher fan, who goes by the handle @iviearie, wrote: “Please don’t let the demons win get strength in your family. You have 2 kids to raise they don’t need to watch their father go thru drunken stupors. Your fans adore u your family would lay down their lives for u. Get help it’s only one phone call away.”
Christopher had previously been taken to a medical center for treatment, but checked himself out, against medical advice, on the day he was arrested. Soap Hub wishes the actor well and hopes he gets the treatment he needs.
