After leaving Days of our Lives earlier this year (following rumors that he was intoxicated on the set), former General Hospital and DAYS star Tyler Christopher has been arrested for public intoxication, according to several sources.

TMZ is reporting that Christopher was partying on his 47th birthday on Monday night in Martinsville, IN. He was arrested and booked into the Morgan County Jail, and is being held for $225 cash and a $1,000 bond, according to the jail’s arrest log.

Christopher debuted on General Hospital back in 1996 under the name Tyler Baker, and he played the part of Nikolas Cassadine off and on until 2016. In May of 2016, he took a break from the show, ostensibly when contract negotiations soured. However, he never returned.

The actor instead ended up on Days of our Lives as Stefan O. DiMera, the son of Stefano DiMera and Vivian Alamain. He made his DAYS debut in January of 2018, but left the show later that year with no real confirmation as to why. Former GH co-star Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny) took over the role.

Meanwhile, Nikolas was recently recast on GH, with Marcus Coloma playing the part, disappointing many fans when Christopher did not return to the role he created more than two decades ago.

According to Indiana court records, the actor’s wife, Brienne, filed for divorce in February of this year. A final dissolution court date is set for January of 2020.

There is no word as to whether Tyler Christopher is still behind bars or whether he made bond, but Soap Hub will keep you informed as we learn more.
