Days of Our Lives (DOOL) star Deidre Hall has been a mainstay in Salem for decades as the unflappable Marlena Evans. Hall has become the unofficial face of the long-running soap, portraying Marlena in remarkable scenarios that have become iconic to fans around the world.

As Marlena, Hall has played the character for over 4,000 episodes of the NBC serial.

Dr. Marlena Evans Brady has raised a family, been possessed by Satan, and fallen in love with a man whom she believed to be her husband but it turned out that he wasn’t when her real husband returned.

She’s also plummeted from a 30-story-window and was mind-controlled to believe she was a serial killer.

Hall’s life was a bit more sedate — but still interesting. The third of five children, Hall and her twin sister, Andrea, were born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and raised in Lake Worth, Florida. She graduated Lake Worth High School and studied psychology in college.

But did you know that Hall is also a chef? She published a cookbook in 2010 called Kitchen Closeup with longtime pal, Lynne Parmiter Bowman.

The book shared solid nutritional information from the soap star, along with kitchen management tips.

Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
