Soap Star Experiences Heartbreaking Loss

Crystal Chappell, a veteran of many soaps, including Days of Our Lives and Guiding Light, has turned in many emotionally powerful scenes over the years. But, now, sadly, the actress is suffering a real-life loss to which many of her fans can relate.

The actress, who won a Daytime Emmy for playing Olivia on GL, but may best be known for her runs as Dr. Carly Manning on DAYS, recently posted online that she had to say farewell to a beloved family member, her dog, Maggie.

Chappell tweeted out both a beautiful photo and tribute to her beloved dog, noting she’d brought “love, healing and unity” to her family.

As Chappell’s followers on Instagram can attest to because of all the posts showing Maggie, it’s clear she was a beloved family member who brought joy to everyone who loved her.

It’s possibly Maggie was named after Chappell’s character on One Life to Live, Maggie Carpenter. Either way, the loving pup held and will always hold a special place in Chappell’s heart. Soap Hub sends its deepest condolences to Chappell and her family at this difficult time.
