Days of Our Lives star Alison Sweeney did the smart thing and when she saw something wrong, she immediately saw a doctor and got a diagnosis she didn’t expect.
The actress, who spent more than a decade hosting The Biggest Loser, has taken to social media to tell her fans and followers she has skin cancer, If caught early, the survival rate is 98%, according to Skincancer.org, Sweeney has a very real warning for everyone.
“So, I just got off the phone with my dermatologist. Kind of a bummer, but turns out I need to have a small bump removed from my nose that came up positive for skin cancer,” Sweeney wrote.
“She assured me that we caught it early and I just wanted to share her advice: Check your skin for any noticeable changes and ask your doctor about it!! Even if it seems like nothing, let an expert decide.
“Early detection of skin cancer gives you the greatest chance for successful skin cancer treatment and prevents it from developing into something more complicated. And of course – use sunscreen (which I do!!)”
Thankfully, Sweeney’s prognosis is excellent and Soap Hub wishes the actress the best of health always. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
