She’s played many baddies during her time on soaps, but Linda Dano, much like her Another World alter-ego, Felicia Gallant, is a big softy at heart. And that heart was no doubt heavy on Sunday when she shared some sad news.
Linda Dano Shares Her Pain
Dano took to social media to share a message with her followers. “Hello everyone… it’s been awhile I know…it’s been a really difficult year and I hope you have survived all the changes and disappointments,” began Dano’s Instagram post, which was accompanied by a snapshot of her beautiful fur baby.
“I am showing you a photo of my beautiful Mabel… Maude her little sister and I lost Mabel this past May… we just couldn’t let you know until now… All of us so love our babies and having to say goodbye is almost impossible… so I share this with you now…for all of us who have had to say goodbye… with much love and friendship… Linda DanoXO.”
Among the many offering their condolences to Dano were her former Another World co-star Amy Carlson (ex-Josie Watts), who penned, “Sending you so much love Linda— so sorry for your loss. ❤️❤️❤️😢” and General Hospital star Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) who shared, “Aw so sorry Linda. It’s really hard I know. We said farewell to our Ziggy this year too. Sending love xxx.”
Dano began her daytime career on ABC’s One Life to Live, where she played Gretel “Rae” Cummings. After a brief stint on the Tiffany network’s stalwart soap, As the World Turns, she landed the part of Another World’s Felicia. For her work on that program, Dano would be awarded the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress at the 1993 ceremony.
Additionally, Dano would make appearances on Guiding Light (as inmate Lena Kendall) and Days of our Lives, where she pinch-hit for good pal Louise Sorel – the original Vivian Alamain. Soap Hub sends sincere condolences to Linda Dano at this challenging time.
