General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Days of Our Lives have all altered their production schedules and/or events due to concerns over the Coronavirus. At press time, The Young and the Restless has not announced a production hiatus.
Soap Opera Life: Going Through Change
The soaps will continue to air and, in fact, the cancellation of the March Madness college basketball tournament means that BB and YR won’t be pre-empted for two days as they traditionally are around this time of year.
Some soap events have either been put on hold or rescheduled out of concern for the Coronavirus.
Steve Burton
Coastal Entertainment tweeted a video of Steve Burton (Jason, GH) letting his followers know that shows he was doing in Pennsylvania and in New Jersey on March 21 and 22 have been moved to September 26 and 27. Burton noted that he is not canceling the events, but rather rescheduling because “we’re still going to have fun!”
Kate Linder
Kate Linder (Esther, YR) also took to social media to update her followers on a change of date for the 7th Annual Opportuni-Tea in Calgary with Kate Linder and Friends. “In the interest of safety, we’ve made the tough decision to postpone OpportuniTea Calgary until Oct 4. Current ticket holders, your tix will be honored at the Oct event. Visit https://marchofdimes.ca/calgarytea for the latest info & updates.
DAYS Event
Also, Spectrum Celebrity Events has announced on social media that an upcoming event featuring DAYS stars Eric Martsolf (Brady), Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa), Kate Mansi (ex-Abby), Stacy Haiduk (Kristen), Billy Flynn (Chad), Scott Shillstone (ex-Zack/ex-Wyatt), Brock Kelly (Evan), and Paul Telfer (Xander) has been postponed.
“Attendees–Due to the global #CoronavirusPandemic we are postponing #SCEBUR20 scheduled next weekend,” Spectrum Celebrity Events tweeted. “A new fall date will be announced soon. You will have the option of keeping your tickets or requesting a refund. More info will be sent via email soon. #StayTuned.”
