While NBC and Sony Pictures Television offer Days of Our Lives (DOOL) a budget that works with a schedule taping episodes in bulk six months before it airs, that doesn’t always work for story purposes, which is reflected in the beloved soaps’ ratings.
Unlike on other soaps that tape about 3-4 weeks in advance, if a story just isn’t working, DAYS can’t scrap it. The story has to play out in all its horror no matter what fans think. Plus, every time a new head writer is hired, we have to wait six months to see the new writer’s work.
While DAYS, NBC, and Sony would have to work out the logistics, we want this soap to be saved by going back to a normal taping schedule.
If you want the same, sign the petition below and let the powers that be know how you feel.
