Sensational Days of Our Lives Scene: Deimos Returns and Kate Panics

There’s a dangerous game being played on “Days of Our Lives” and we saw it on Thursday with Deimos and Kate. As they tiptoed around one another, Salem gave us one sensational “Days of Our Lives” scene.

Evil Is as Evil Acts
It’s always compelling to watch a daytime villain as we take a glimpse into the fascinating complexities of a devious mind. When a story pits two villains against one another, it’s positively riveting.

We’ll never forget Kate (Lauren Koslow) hearing some classical piano that is actually the intro to Barry Manilow’s “Could It Be Magic?” coming from the creepy Casa Kiriakis’ living room. Koslow conveyed Kate’s shock and horror at finding Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) alive and well as he entered the room.

Welcome Back–I Thought I Killed You!
In the next scene, Deimos cooly turned around, not a scratch or bruise in sight, to echo Mark Twain: “Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.” Irizarry uttered these words almost playfully, making his usually sociopathic coolness even scarier.

As he continued behaving as if he’d just been to the grocery store instead of plummeting off a cliff, Kate made a cautious circle him in her ever-present high-heels. She uttered timidly, “I only took what you promised me.”

Irizarry laughed and asked if would even get a welcome home after what Nicole (Arianne Zucker) did to him. Kate’s body language immediately relaxed as she embraced her supposed husband.

Kate sighed with relief and dishonestly said, “I’m just so happy you’re okay.”

The looks on their faces were unforgettable. Anger flickered over Irizarry’s face like quiet lightning. Meanwhile, utter terror at what this man standing in her home could mean consumed Koslow’s visage.

Two Pros at Work
This brief scene let these actors shine. Thus, we say, “Brava” to Koslow and Irizarry for this week’s “Sensational Days of Our Lives Scene!”
