There’s a first time for everything and a first time comes for upstanding mayor Abe Carver next week on Days of Our Lives (DOOL).
Abe (James Reynolds) has been serving Salem and putting his life at risk since 1981. In fact, he was shot performing his mayoral duties just last year and now, thanks to the Hernandez brothers, he finds himself behind bars, according to the August 21 issue of Soap Opera Digest.
FBI agent Eli (Lamon Archey) is suspicious of the expensive gifts Abe has been giving his mother and can’t imagine where he would get the money to buy them.
Then, some evidence appears that makes Abe look like Dario’s (Jordi Vilasuso) partner in crime, and Rafe is forced to arrest Salem’s mayor–whether he wants to or not.
Let us point out that Rafe (Galen Gering) has been arresting a lot of people he hasn’t wanted to arrest recently (like his father and brother), but had absolutely no trouble covering for Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and NOT arresting her when he knew she shot Stefano.
He also makes this arrest WITH Hope. But, we digress.
Abe takes his arrest with dignity, while still proclaiming his innocence because that’s who Abe is.
It’s just too bad Rafe and Hope couldn’t wait till they were in a more private spot and not mortify the mayor in Horton Square.
