Sarah Horton’s Wild AND CRAZY Days of Our Lives Roots

When it comes to daytime characters, Sarah Horton’s wild – and crazy – Days of Our Lives roots are some of most convoluted on soaps.

The Bold and the Beautiful alum Linsey Godfrey (ex-Caroline) has been hired to resurrect the character, who hasn’t been seen since she was a teenager in 1991. Before she arrives in Salem, let’s take a look back at how Sarah came to be.

Baby on Board

Maggie (Suzanne Rogers), who was then married to the sterile Mickey Horton (John Clarke), was desperate to have a child. She went to Dr. Neil Curtis and arranged to be inseminated by an anonymous donor. Soon, Maggie became pregnant, and she and Mickey anxiously anticipated their baby’s birth.

A Child Is Born

Things changed, however, when the questionable Evan Whyland revealed himself as Maggie’s sperm donor and wanted to claim baby Sarah and raise her with his wife.

Things got more complicated when we learned Evan’s wife was dead. Maggie and Mickey sued for custody of the infant and won. Soon after, Evan perished in a car accident.

Growing Up Horton

Sarah was raised in a happy home by Maggie and Mickey, who loved and treated her as his own daughter. Things went awry, however, when Mickey’s career began to unravel and he started spending long hours at the office. Maggie, feeling unloved and neglected, turned to Neil Curtis and they began having an affair.

Caught in the Act

Sarah caught Maggie and Neil in the throes of passion, took pictures of the twosome, and threatened to expose them.

That’s when Maggie and Neil revealed a shocking secret: Neil was actually Sarah’s biological father. (Neil had confessed the truth to Maggie, when they became involved.)

Sarah still revealed their affair to Mickey, who was heartbroken. However, he realized he was partly to blame for neglecting his wife.

Mickey and Maggie reconciled, and Sarah came to terms with everything she learned. However, she always considered Mickey her father.
