Sarah, Eric (And Holly): The New Days of Our Lives Love To Look Out For?

Well, that was a fast engagement on Days of Our Lives!

First, Rex (Kyle Lowder) managed to tell dozens of people about his fiancée – without managing to mention that his intended was Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey), who viewers watched grow up (mostly off-screen) in Salem.

Then, in the span of a couple of back-to-back episodes, Mimi (Farah Fath) confessed that Baby Bonnie (AKA Emily) was hers… and that Rex was the daddy. Sarah learned that Rex cheated on her – and not just with Mimi – and dumped him.

Uhm…are we supposed to be heartbroken about these newbies we never saw fall in love, and so had no investment in?

Sure doesn’t seem like it on. On the other hand, Sarah is drinking away her sorrows, and crying on the shoulder of childhood friend Eric (Greg Vaughan), who is nursing a heartbreak of his own ever since Nicole (Arianne Zucker) allegedly went up in flames.

Proximity Pairing
It’s kind of obvious for 57% of you. We never saw Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Eric with their bosom body Sarah, but suddenly everyone has such sweet memories of their time together.

Sarah told Rex to get lost, Eric isn’t exactly feeling the warm wishes from Jennifer (Melissa Reeves). They’re spending time together, and they’re not making each other sick to their stomachs. That sure sounds like chemistry in Salem!

Plus, they have a toddler to play Mommy and Daddy with in the form of Nicole’s daughter, Holly.

Sibling Stuff
That’s not chemistry, that’s desperation, 43% of the audience corrects. They’re both sad and lonely, and misery notoriously loves company.

Eric and Sarah are just friends, and if anything romantic does happen between them, it will be because they can’t think of anything better to do – and are confusing sympathy for sexual attraction.

Sarah and Eric can hang out while they lick their wounds. But, when it comes to love, both should look elsewhere.
