Robin Strasser Speaks Out On Her Days Of Our Lives Status

One of soaps’ most memorable recent recasts was having Emmy-winning fan favorite Robin Strasser sub for the equally-popular Louise Sorel as Vivian Alamain on Days of Our Lives.

Plenty of fans had opinions as to how they felt about Strasser, best known to viewers for her role as Dorian on One Life to Live, but also known for her landmark run as Rachel Davis on Another World, taking on the part that Sorel made famous.

Often, Strasser engages with fans on social media as she gave updates on everything from how much fun she was having to her admiration for Sorel. Now, the actress has tweeted whether or not she’ll return to Salem and, alas, the answer appears to be no.

In a tweet in which she clarifies her dynamic with DAYS head writer Ron Carlivati, who also was top scribe at OLTL and therefore, charted Dorian’s fate, Strasser wrote: “btw #DAYS won’t be using me as #Vivian again-#CordayHasABetterWay & I’m so OK:)” No word on if this means Sorel will be returning or if a third actress will take over the part.

Little Known Facts

Technically, it’d be a fourth actress playing Vivian if someone comes in after Strasser. Veteran DAYS fans recall that Marj Dusay (ex-Myrna, Capitol; ex-Vanessa, All My Children; ex-Alexandra, Guiding Light) once subbed for Sorel as Viv, briefly, back in 1993.

And file this under soaps are a small world: Strasser once let fans know on social media that the late, great soap producer Paul Rauch once had a plan to recast OLTL’s Dorian with Sorel!
