On Days of our Lives, Rita has become a confidante and loyal partner in crime to EJ. However, one conversation changed all of that and gave EJ a reality check on the person he thought had his back no matter what.
Key Takeaways
- Rita dropped a bomb on EJ.
- EJ just lost his upper hand.
- Rita showed who has the real power.
The Conversation That Changed Everything
EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) came in hot at Rita (Maggie Carney) after he overheard Marlena (Diedre Hall) demand to know if Dominic was her and Stefano’s (Joseph Mascolo) son. Rita did her best to be vague and blow him off, but it only made EJ angrier.
The conversation took a turn when Rita insisted she didn’t have any answers, leading EJ to threaten her. Instead of bowing down, a flip was switched in Rita, and she pushed back on him.
Rita reminded EJ that she knows all his dirty little secrets, including his plans for Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and the tainted Coriseal. She also knows where all the bodies are buried.
EJ Just Got a Reality Check About Rita
The dynamic between Rita and EJ has been forever altered. EJ believed he could control Rita and that she would always be loyal to him. What EJ never even considered was that Rita was loyal to the entire DiMera family, namely Stefano, long before him.
Rita also just showed EJ that she won’t hesitate to throw him under the bus, and she has the goods to do it. EJ confided his deepest, darkest secrets in her, and Rita will use them if she needs to.
Gone are the days when Rita lets EJ push her around. Rita has shifted their relationship. However, EJ has no idea what else Rita knows or who she’s been working for.
DAYS fans will recall that she found EJ’s ring, and then, suddenly, it arrived at Dominic’s in an envelope. That doesn’t mean she knows Dominic. It does mean Rita’s taking orders from more DiMeras than EJ, including a dead Stefano.
