So maybe Dominic is her biological child with Stefano, whom she left for his father to raise because, well, Rita had better things to do.
A Theory That Could Bind Marlena and Dominic…with Rita
On the other hand, if Dominic is another of Stefano’s science experiments, where he created a child for him and Marlena (Deidre Hall) artificially, then Rita could have merely been the surrogate, again, because she knows how to give herself every advantage, and knew Stefano would be very, very grateful to the woman who gave him a child with his beloved Marlena.
A Third Theory Enters the Equation
But the theory we love best is that Rita conceived a child she didn’t want with, say, Dr. Rolf (Richard Wharton). The two then colluded to convince Stefano that this baby was his and Marlena’s – if Stefano would ever believe anyone, it’s his trusted Rolf and Rita.
Rita and Rolf gave their son over to Stefano, knowing he’d have the best life, they’d be free to pursue their own interests, and Stefano would be forever in their debt. It’s a win-win for everybody!
