Too Close For Comfort
Salem is a large city. Salem University is a large hospital. There is more than one doctor on duty at any given time. There is no reason for Sarah (Linsey Godfrey, who recently explained her tattoos) to be the one to treat her niece, Holly (Ashley Puzemis). Now, we realize that everyone is related to everyone in town. But Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) is a more distant relative, at least. Plus, the hallways are full of people in white coats who wouldn’t be so close to the situation, like the American Medical Association recommends.
Give It a Shot
Sarah walked into her office and saw a book open to the category: Arsenic Poisoning. Eureka! That’s what Holly has! Let’s treat her right away! Tests? Who needs tests? Kayla is just being an old stick-in-the-mud, insisting on protocol and other boring stuff. Sarah has decided she is right and will do whatever she wants. This, of course, has nothing to do with her feeling guilty about letting Destiny die. Sarah couldn’t possibly be feeling irrational and making bad decisions. Sarah always makes good decisions.
Speak Up
Sarah is so worried that she might lose Holly that she is standing over Holly’s bed, lamenting to Kayla. Holly may die! Sarah may not be able to save her! Holly may be doomed! Could Sarah possibly have this conversation with Kayla in the hallway? Not over, you know, the patient? Within hearing distance? That cannot be good for her.
