Bo Brady will always have a special place in the hearts of Days of Our Lives fans as a renegade turned hero and one-half of the most dynamic couple in the show’s history.
Bo (Peter Reckell) was the only son of Caroline Brady and Victor Kiriakis. Raised by mom Caroline and her husband Shawn Brady, Bo rode into Salem on his motorcycle in 1983. Bearded and wearing a leather jacket, he wasn’t your typical soap opera hero.
A Rebel With No Cause…Until Meeting Hope Williams
Bo caught the eye of spoiled little rich girl, Hope Williams (Kristian Alfonso), and despite her father Doug’s objections to their relationship, the pair couldn’t stay away from each other.
Bo finally admitted his love for Hope on the night of her 18th birthday. They were about to consummate their relationship when Doug burst in on them and promptly had a heart attack.
Hope vowed to stay away from Bo and started dating slimy DA Larry Welch (Andrew Massett). Bo, who was working undercover to help solve the Salem Slasher case, feared for Hope’s safety and pushed her away.
Hope returned to Larry and they became engaged. On the day of their wedding, Bo raced in, snatched the bride, and took off with her. He explained why he’d pushed Hope away, and they reconciled.
Bo And Hope Wed, Begin Their Family
Bo and Hope began meeting secretly and took off to New Orleans, where they finally made love. The next year, they wound up in London on another adventure to track down The Dragon, and eventually, Bo and Hope married in a lavish ceremony on May 23, 1985.
Hope would eventually miscarry the couple’s first child, but she soon became pregnant again and delivered a healthy baby boy they named Shawn-Douglas. The couple decided to leave Salem with their new baby and set sail around the world.
Returning to Salem, Bo later became a detective at the Salem PD after the birth of his and Hope’s son Zack. The couple faced another great loss after Zack was taken off life support after a hit and run accident caused by Chelsea. As a result of the accident, Hope pushed Bo away, blaming him for Chelsea’s actions.
When Hope learned she was pregnant again, she thought it was Patrick’s child. However, Bo turned out to be the dad. The couple fell back in love and welcomed a daughter they named Ciara.

Bo Realizes Hope Is His True Love
Although both Bo and Hope found love with other people (him with Billie Reed and Carly Manning and her with Patrick and Aiden Jennings), they always found their way back to one another.
After Bo faced a health crisis in which Chelsea saved his life by donating part of her pancreas, Bo started planning a surprise for Hope. On August 7, 2008, Bo and Hope renewed their vows in front of family and friends
Bo left town with his mother so she could receive treatment for what they thought was Alzheimer’s. Hope later divorced Bo after not hearing from him for several years. Little did she know, he was being held hostage and tortured. He finally escaped with Steve’s (Stephen Nichols) help and returned to Hope, stopping Aiden from killing her.
However, not 24 hours later, Bo died in Hope’s arms after learning he had a brain tumor. The news devastated him after being captive for so long. Hope said goodbye in the same spot they shared their first kiss so many years ago.
