Bo Brady will always have a special place in the hearts of Days of Our Lives fans as a renegade turned hero and one-half of the most dynamic couple in the show’s history.
Bo (Peter Reckell) was the only son of Caroline Brady and Victor Kiriakis. Raised by mom Caroline and her husband Shawn Brady, Bo rode into Salem on his motorcycle in 1983. Bearded and wearing a leather jacket, he wasn’t your typical soap opera hero.
A Rebel With No Cause…Until Meeting Hope Williams
Bo caught the eye of spoiled little rich girl, Hope Williams (Kristian Alfonso), and despite her father Doug’s objections to their relationship, the pair couldn’t stay away from each other.
Bo finally admitted his love for Hope on the night of her 18th birthday. They were about to consummate their relationship when Doug burst in on them and promptly had a heart attack.
Hope vowed to stay away from Bo and started dating slimy DA Larry Welch (Andrew Massett). Bo, who was working undercover to help solve the Salem Slasher case, feared for Hope’s safety and pushed her away.
Hope returned to Larry and they became engaged. On the day of their wedding, Bo raced in, snatched the bride, and took off with her. He explained why he’d pushed Hope away, and they reconciled.
Bo And Hope Wed, Begin Their Family
Bo and Hope began meeting secretly and took off to New Orleans, where they finally made love. The next year, they wound up in London on another adventure to track down The Dragon, and eventually, Bo and Hope married in a lavish ceremony on May 23, 1985.
Hope would eventually miscarry the couple’s first child, but she soon became pregnant again and delivered a healthy baby boy they named Shawn-Douglas. The couple decided to leave Salem with their new baby and set sail around the world.
