In the Days of our Lives recap for Tuesday, December 26, 2023, Chad, Harris, and Everett made merry on Christmas Day.

Days of our Lives Recap Highlights

In addition, Stefan and Ava hit an all-time low (which is really saying something), Maggie’s hopes of a happy Christmas failed to come to pass, while Konstantin schemed to get back under the Kiriakis roof. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.

What Passes For Bonding

At the Brady Pub, Chad (Billy Flynn) and Harris (Steve Burton) commiserated over their no good, very bad (holi)day. Chad relayed how he’d spent the proceedings minutes reflecting on all the mistakes he’d made that year, and Harris, in turn, recalled the time he received a breakup letter as a stocking stuffer.

Harris also filled Chad in on Kissgate and Ava’s (Tamara Braun) insistence that they end things. (Luckily, he was gallant not to throw Stephanie under the bus.)

Everett (Blake Berris) happened upon the scene, and Chad introduced him as “the guy who replaced him in Stephanie’s life.” Not so, claimed the reporter. Stephanie (Abigail Klein) has made it clear, very clear, that she’s taking a break from men and relationships. With that granted, Everett earned an invitation to join the Lonely Hearts Club.

Stephanie dominated the men’s conversation, which really made Harris uneasy. Equally disconcerting for the top cop was the uptick of drug-related offenses, ODs, and deaths. Everett’s interest piqued, but Harris couldn’t confide much seeing as how he didn’t know much.

Opposite, Ava and Stefan (Brandon Barash) met up outside The Bistro to accept another shipment of pills hidden inside restaurant goods. Stefan groused about Gabi’s recent injury — a warning to keep in line if there ever was one — and set Ava off when he revealed he’d attempted to interest EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) in helping him and Ava rid the world of Clyde (James Read). Ava ranted and raved, but it was all moot. EJ had happily turned him down.

Back at the pub, Harris received a tip that a handoff was in progress and took off. Imagine his surprise to find Ava and Stefan surrounded by packages. Meanwhile, Chad and Everett put their heads together and decided to do a spot of investigating the drug trade themselves.

Not So Festive Season

Over at the Kiriakis mansion, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) happily welcomed Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), Xander (Paul Telfer), Victoria Margaret, and Justin (Wally Kurth) — the latter all on his lonesome owing to Bonnie (Judi Evans) heading for Chicago to visit with Mimi and her granddaughter.

The adults were heartened to see Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Theresa (Emily O’Brien) put in an appearance, but feelings were hurt when Alex made a point of calling Justin by his name (rather than Dad), and later tempers flared over Alex’s attitude towards his duties at Titan.

Konstantin (John Kapelos) surprised the assemblage by waltzing in with a gift for Maggie (an actual Grecian tablecloth) and the announcement that he was leaving on a plane a few hours hence (he lied, just like he did here). No one but Maggie was particularly sorry to see him go. Especially Theresa.

But, Konstain had yet another scheme up his sleeve. A little something he learned from “a wily Spartan.” Namely, a trick to induce an ankle sprain without seriously damaging the appendage. That injury earned him a reprieve from his travels and an invitation to remain at the manse until the morning.

The likes of Brady (Eric Martsolf) — smarting over Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) blocking him from seeing Rachel (Finley Rose Slater) — and Xander were incredulous. Luckily (or unluckily, depending on how you look at it), Xander and Sarah were able to exit the scene once baby Victoria began fussing.
