On today’s Days of our Lives, Stefan DiMera made it crystal clear that conditioning or no conditioning, he really, really didn’t care for Gabi and her tactics.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition to Stefan’s excoriating of his ex, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) happily welcomed her brothers back to Salem, Steve (Stephen Nichols) put the fear of G-d into that mean, mean, mean Kristen DiMera, Li further blackened his character, and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) tried and failed to win back his ladylove. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Stefan DiMera Gets Harsh With Gabi
Having learned from Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) that Gabi (Camila Banus) was telling the truth, Stefan made a beeline for Li’s hotel room and decked his would-be murderer. I deserved that, reasoned Li. Also, he’s sorry for all the damage that he’s caused. And the attempt on Stefan’s life. Li’s especially sorry for that. He just wasn’t himself that day.
Redemption, or something close to it, is within Li’s grasp, so claims Stefan, but only if Li clues somebody into Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) whereabouts. Unfortunately, Li has no idea where his partner-in-crime is…or so he says. That’s too bad, sighs Stefan.

Upon being left on his lonesome — but only after Stefan threatened to see to it that Li was fired from his top spot at DiMera Enterprises — Li made some phone calls. First, he made sure that Dr. Rolf was comfortable in his new digs. Afterward, he got in touch with EJ and made something perfectly clear: if he’s let go, he’ll make sure everybody learns that EJ was well aware of Stefan’s brainwashing and did nothing about it.
Outside the Salem Inn, Stefan ran into Gabi, fresh from being told off for wanting to burst into Dr. Marlena Evans Black’s hospital room to get her help in deprogramming Stefan…despite being pretty much on her deathbed.
Brady (Eric Martsolf) had every right to be harsh with you, Stefan shouted/explained to an exasperated Gabi. How dare she try and bother a dying woman for her own selfish ends?! That’s despicable! Gabi’s despicable! In fact, Stefan quickly came to the conclusion that “Li did me a favor when he brainwashed me because it got me away from a bitch like you!” Harsh. The irony of ironies, it was Li who came racing to Gabi’s defense.
DOOL Recap: Brothers & Sisters
Having spent the previous night and most of the morning moping, Stephanie was heartened to see Joey (Tanner Stine) and Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams).
A few hugs, a few cheek kisses, and one see you later to Tripp — who’s decided to pay his mother a visit at Bayview — it was time for Stephanie to go back to moping, this time with an audience…who wasn’t Chad.
Oh how awful Stephanie felt that she didn’t get to say her goodbyes to her mother. She regrets the day that she ever met Alex. Oh, did she forget to mention that Alex shut off her cell phone, and that’s why she missed visiting Kayla on her deathbed? Because that’s what happened. Steph knows it, Alex knows it, Chad knows it. Hell, even Sonny knows it. It’s only right that Joey knows it now too.
Steve Johnson Gets The Goods On Kristen DiMera
Steve (Stephen Nichols) had a plan. A pretty damn impressive plan. It involved him barging his way into the DiMera manse, causing quite the stink, and trying to murder Kristen (Stacy Haiduk). Well, no. Not murder. Not exactly.
Yes, he did indeed wrap his hands around her throat and give it a good squeeze — but the plan wasn’t to kill. Maim, yes. Scare, absolutely. But Steve was sure that somebody would come in and stop him. Pretty sure. He hoped that someone would come in and stop him.
That someone wound up being Johnny (Carson Boatman), and he made sure to let Auntie Kristen know that he’d only saved her neck for Steve’s sake.
But back to Steve’s plan. The murder attempt that wasn’t a murder attempt was actually a diversion tactic. While Johnny was busy getting Kristen to breathe again, Steve planted a bug that picked up quite the telling conversation. There Kristen was, on record — so to speak — admitting that she’d kept that lifesaving orchid for her own purposes. That’s surely enough to result in an arrest. Right?
Days of our Lives Recap: Big Swing, Bigger Miss
Having chased off Gabi, Brady turned his attention to a visiting Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin). Is it possible, even conceivable that she was there with news of her intent to return to him, Brady wondered? Not exactly.
Try as she might, Chloe still can’t wrap her head around Brady’s subterfuge. He says he loves her, and yet he broke up with her to appease Kristen. Huh? That doesn’t make much sense. Besides, she’s still got real, serious feelings for Stefan. Those aren’t just going to go away.
Interpreting Chloe’s confusion as a challenge, Brady pulled her into a kiss — and Chloe reciprocated. And how! But that still didn’t do the trick. In fact, Chloe was more confused than ever.
