In the October 2 episode of Days of our Lives, Johnny finally did the thing that EJ had spent weeks trying to prevent: he told Rafe the truth. Johnny admitted the Coriseal complaints were real, said EJ knew about them, and explained how deeply he helped cover everything up. Meanwhile, EJ kept leaning on Rita without realizing she may be the worst possible person to trust right now. By the end, Marlena arrived demanding answers about Dominic, and EJ walked in just in time to hear a question he was definitely not prepared for.

Key Takeaways

  • Johnny told Rafe that EJ knew about the Coriseal problems and helped cover them up.
  • Johnny admitted he could face legal consequences for helping his father.
  • Rafe supported Johnny but warned that turning on EJ could cost him their relationship.
  • Rita assured EJ of her loyalty without actually giving him a straight answer.
  • Marlena confronted Rita about Dominic and demanded the truth.
  • EJ overheard Marlena asking whether Dominic is her son with Stefano.

What Happened on DAYS

Johnny (Carson Boatman) went to Rafe (Galen Gering) and laid everything out. He admitted the FDA complaints were legitimate, said EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) knew about Coriseal, and revealed that George (Michael Rose) coached him to deny and deflect. Johnny knew he could be implicated, but he was finished protecting his father if more people could get hurt.

Rafe understood how serious that decision was and warned Johnny that EJ may never forgive him. Johnny accepted that possibility. He said Chanel (Raven Bowens) and the children made him want to become a better man, and he refused to let EJ drag him any further into the muck.

At the mansion, EJ complained to Rita (Maggie Carney) about Johnny and admitted he no longer thought his son had what it took to run DiMera. He also confided that Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) quit, prompting him to ask Rita whether he could still trust her. Rita claimed her loyalty to the DiMeras remained steadfast, which was technically an answer if you squinted hard enough.

Then Marlena (Deidre Hall) arrived and confronted Rita about the clues surrounding Dominic. She revealed that Rita’s fingerprints were found on the music program connected to the mystery and pressed her about Stefano’s plans. EJ returned just in time to hear Marlena demand to know whether Dominic was her son with Stefano.

Why It Matters

Johnny finally stopped trying to fix EJ’s crimes from inside the family. That is the biggest change here. He knew confessing could hurt him too, and he went to Rafe anyway because keeping quiet had become worse than facing the consequences.

EJ, meanwhile, may be losing control of nearly every front at once. Johnny is talking, Cat walked out, Titan escaped his grasp, and Rita is clearly carrying secrets connected to Stefano. EJ thinks ruthlessness is what separates him from Johnny, but Johnny may be the one making the harder choice.

The Fallout

Rafe now has information that could finally put real pressure on EJ. Johnny’s admission may also expose his own role in the cover-up, so this is not some risk-free act of rebellion. He is choosing to take the hit if that is what it takes to prevent further damage.

And then there is Dominic. Marlena’s confrontation with Rita just pulled EJ directly into a mystery he barely understands. If Rita really has been carrying out Stefano’s wishes, EJ may discover that his father left behind one last plan that does not revolve around him at all. That may sting almost as much as losing Titan.
