On today’s Days of our Lives, Li Shin gets all kinds of bamboozled. It really serves him right given his treatment of Gabi.
In addition, Talia (Aketra Sevillian) provided Paulina (Jackée Harry) a much-needed service, Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) found herself in the hot seat for a whole five minutes, and Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) traded pointed barbs. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
An incredulous Li (Remington Hoffman) refused to give EJ’s (Dan Feuerriegel) insinuation that Gabi (Camila Banus) was bedding Stefan (Brandon Barash) as they spoke — in room 312 at the Salem Inn — any credence…until he did.

Keycard gripped in hand, Li made his way to the hotel, up to the room, and stood outside the door. After uttering a quiet plea for Gabi not to be inside, Li unlocked the door and burst inside.
He was indeed greeted by the sight of Stefan and a raven-haired beauty getting it on, but after ranting and raving at “Gabi” — imagine Li’s surprise when it was MELINDA TRASK (Tina Huang) who emerged from beneath the covers!
Now, unbeknownst to Li, Gabi was where he was standing only an hour or so before, and she was all over Stefan with the intention of getting him into the nearby bed.
But Stefan had finally come to his senses and realized that the two of them were being set up. Nicole and EJ hadn’t arranged the rendezvous out of the kindness of their hearts. They’d done it because it was part of a bigger plan. “That son of a bitch wants your husband to catch us together!”
After briefly considering an alternative that was ordering room service, watching something on the Peacock, and waiting for Li to charge in, Stefan hit upon the idea of conscripting Melinda to his cause.
For her part, Melinda was all too happy to join in. First and foremost, Melinda hates EJ — HATES him! — so any excuse to contribute to him crashing and burning would do. Secondly, the stunt allowed her to brush off her amateur dramatic skills. Finally, she actually has had her eye on Stefan for some time, so pretending to sleep with him wasn’t exactly a hardship.
With proverbial egg still dripping down his face, Li returned home and found Gabi sitting on the sofa — and boy, did she have a story for him!
Not only did Nicole have no interest in actually selling her on a job at Basic Black, but she tried to convince Gabi to join Stefan at the Salem Inn. Can Li imagine such a thing? Perhaps Nicole and EJ are *gasp* working some kind of angle.
At the town square, Paulina’s cursing of Sloan and her bemoaning her and Chanel’s (Raven Bowens) current predicament led to a medical emergency…luckily it was a panic attack and not the heart attack that mother and daughter feared.
Talia managed to calm Paulina and diagnose the ailment, and Paulina thanked her — but only after making it clear that “I never panic. I’m cool under pressure.”
Once the worst of it was over, Paulina queried Talia’s know-how and was awed by the fact that the supposed master baker was a “doctor” doctor. A real M.D.
“Why the Hell did you quit medicine to work in a bakery?” asked Paulina on behalf of the equally befuddled audience.
Opposite the above, Sloan agreed to accompany Rafe (Galen Gering) and Jada (Elia Cantu) to the cop shop, a sight which pleased a preening Nicole to no end.
Prior to taking her leave to go and get her thespian on with Stefan, Melinda was on hand to see Sloan being questioned, hear her grouse that “Cagney and Lacey” were trying to railroad her for a crime that she very much did not commit and to warn Rafe that he made an arrest he’d better have the evidence to back it up.
Given that Rafe and Jada had no hard evidence linking Sloan to the break-in at Paulina’s office — or fingerprints or DNA — Sloan was free to go.
This did not please Paulina. Not one little bit. Nor did her discovery of a note vowing, “This Isn’t Over BITCH.”
“How does the former St. Eric feel about sleeping with a criminal?” wondered Nicole post Sloan’s perp walk. That earned her a sharp rebuke from her former lover who reminded that Nicole herself has an extensive rap sheet — one just about as long as her current boyfriend’s.
Speaking of EJ, he took great delight in busting up the exes’ conversation and monopolizing Nicole’s time with his play-by-play of his meeting with Li.
Eric, meanwhile, got a text that Sloan had been released, so he returned to Sloan’s abode and asked her a tough question, namely, whether she was the party responsible for the trashing of Paulina’s office. Sloan said that she wasn’t. Eric believed her.
