On today’s Days of our Lives, Harris Michaels is conscripted into searching for, and rescuing Kate Roberts.
In addition, Kate (Lauren Koslow) tried and failed to extricate herself from her own bad situation and Belle (Martha Madison) oh so violently registered her displeasure with EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) and his egocentric tendencies. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Harris’s (Steve Burton) attempt to get going while the going was good was stymied by his near collision with Shawn (Brandon Beemer) at the door of the hotel they were all occupying — or formerly occupying, as the case may be.
Harris inquired as to whether there was any change in Bo’s (Peter Reckell) condition, but Shawn didn’t have much to offer. Bo had squeezed Hope’s (Kristian Alfonso) hand earlier in the day, so there’s that.

The men then stood around and debated who was the most at fault for Bo’s condition. Harris insisted that he was the one who set the whole thing in motion, that everything that went down at Victor’s place was the direct result of his actions; he was the one who put Shawn and Hope and Bo on that cliff. He’s also sorry. So very, very sorry. He was selfish, and he was wrong. If only he’d spoken up sooner or, at the very least, accompanied Hope, then everything would have been different.
In response, Shawn bemoaned how tired he was of everyone excusing his action. Yes, some of the blame is due to Harris, but at the end of the day, Harris wasn’t the one who pulled the trigger. “You didn’t shoot your own father.” And besides, there’s nothing illegal about what Harris did [or didn’t do, as the case may be]. Nobody’s going to arrest him. Still, Harris sees himself as paying a high price for his sins — he’s lost Hope.
Meanwhile, Roman (Josh Taylor), Andrew (Colton Little), Steve (Stephen Nichols), and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) rejoiced over Bo’s not killing Kate and the latter excitedly rushed from the room to inform Hope.
Roman breathed a sigh of relief over his brother not being a cold-blooded murderer and the fact that his wife is alive…was alive…maybe. Clearly, Bo hadn’t shot her, but “Where the Hell is she?!” After all, ISA agents had scoured the island and come up with nada [one might possibly wonder why they weren’t concerned about not finding Kate’s body at all, but not the ISA].
Roman resolved to “search the whole damn planet” for his lady love and Steve decided that he would join him, Andrew too — but first he had an errand to run, namely tracking Harris down and asking him to put his particular set of skills to work, for good this time.
Opposite the above, Kate took stock of the “maritime Hell” in which she found herself and concluded that it must all be some sort of “cosmic joke” or perhaps a “karmic kick in the ass.”
After first attempting to convince the Universe that she’s “not such a bad person” and then deciding the point was moot, Kate helpfully recapped her predicament to no one in particular, “One moment I’m being held at gunpoint by a reincarnated Bo Brady. The next moment, I’m in the middle of the Mediterranean chopping up an endless pile of fish.” She then set about negotiating with her savior-cum-slave driver.
In the end, a bargain was struck: Kate would turn over her wedding ring and she’d get to make one phone call. Unfortunately, Kate’s considerable effort resulted in a classic “We’re sorry, but your call cannot be completed as dialed.”
Back at the Grecian hospital, Kayla chanced upon Stephanie (Abigail Klein) and Chad (Billy Flynn) and got them up to speed. Both were incredulous — but most excited — to hear about Kate’s survival, but Steph couldn’t help but wonder why Bo would have made the claim that he shot her. Kayla chalked that one up to Bo going out of his way to make her believe he was dangerous.
An elated Chad wondered if he could speak to or, better yet, see Kate, leading Kayla to take the couple back to see Steve and Roman so that they could regroup and come up with a game plan.
Salem: Anywhere USA. Belle rushed into the DiMera house ready to avail herself to EJ who’d phoned about “a matter of life and death.” Upon being apprised of her client’s issue — Stefan (Brandon Barash) hired Gabi (Camila Banus) at DiMera Enterprises and now her “insolent, classless, and altogether infuriating” self is tasked with evaluating EJ’s job performance — Belle informed EJ of an actual life or death matter unfolding as they spoke.
“Not to be obtuse, but why? Why would your husband shoot his back-from-the-dead dad?” wondered EJ. That necessitated Belle to explain how it’d all been an accident, a terrible, tragic mistake.
When EJ suggested that it sounded like Shawn “really screwed up,” Belle punched him in the gut — and just as he downed a bite of pastry!
After suitably recovering, EJ attempted to make up for his “boorish behavior” by offering Belle free use of the company jet. Belle thanked him but declined. She’s in the middle of trial and it wouldn’t be fair to her client to request an indefinite continuance…but what she will do is forgo adding EJ’s power struggle with Stefan and Gabi to her plate.
