On today’s Days of our Lives, Leo Stark caught Xander and Chloe in a most compromising position.
In addition, Tripp (Lucas Adams) impeded Johnny’s (Carson Boatman) attempt to get his leg over, Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Gwen (Emily O’Brien) cleared up any and all confusion between them, and Rachel (Finley Rose Slater) continued to prove that she is indeed her mother’s daughter. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Upon being awakened from a dream in which Harry Styles was spitting on him (don’t ask, just please don’t ask), Leo (Greg Rikaart) took roommate Gwen to task for the intrusion. After all, that was the first good night’s sleep he’s had in some time — and in his own bed, he hastened to add.
In that same vein…why wasn’t he summarily dismissed the night before? Why didn’t Gwen and Alex get up to their usual sexy shenanigans?
Gwen’s dancing around the issue annoyed Leo to no end, especially in light of his hearing that Alex and Xander (Paul Telfer) had come to blows over her. To him, it sounded like Gwen had taken his advice and pitted the cousins against each other, something she strenuously denied.

Opposite this, Justin (Wally Kurth) caught sight of his son’s bruised face and made inquiries. Color him horrified to learn that Alex had been scrapping with Xander over Gwen. Gwen of all people. Gwen who made his brother’s life — not to mention everyone else in Jack’s (Matthew Ashford) orbit — a living Hell.
Alex made it clear that it wasn’t Gwen’s character that he was interested in and hedged that the two of them weren’t exactly serious anyway. In fact, they’re both out and out using each other. She’s using Alex to get over Xander, and he’s using Gwen to get over Stephanie (Abigail Klein). Win-win.
To that, Justin groused he’d rather his son associate with a “nice good-hearted woman like Stephanie” and “not an unhinged psychopath” like Gwen.
Alex wasn’t so bothered, but he seemed to heed Justin’s warning that he’d better disabuse Gwen of any notions that she might have of the two of them going the distance — given that she’s proven more than capable of giving “the Borgia gals a run for their money.”
Meanwhile, Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) was thrilled — though completely stunned — to learn that her little diatribe against the wee terror that is Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) daughter hadn’t made it into Leo’s latest column. Funny that. Now, if only she hadn’t attempted to mitigate damage by apologizing profusely to Brady whom she found pursuing The Spectator website. Good thing she’s a master at damage control.
But not knowing why the story wasn’t printed nagged at Chloe. Enter Xander to helpfully explain that he’d killed it. Publisher’s privilege and all that.
Chloe was grateful. Extremely so…not that it made up for Xander abandoning her in Mexico with a psychotic drug lord. But a hug was in order — a hug that Leo, who was on a mission to give Xander a piece of his mind for meddling with this piece, snapped several pictures of!
A half-naked, boogie-woogie-ing Tripp had assumed he was alone in the apartment that he shared with three other people. He was wrong.
Wendy (Victoria Grace) was taking advantage of some accrued vacation days, and she was very much enjoying the show Tripp was putting on.
Once the confusion was cleared up, things got heated between Wendy and Tripp — then Johnny showed up. He was less than impressed to see Tripp parading around in his boxer shorts and let it be known but in the nicest way possible.
While Tripp dressed, Johnny wormed his way back into Wendy’s good graces and got her to agree to an immediate movie date.
Tripp took his leave of the couple, got a good run in, and fantasized about smooching Wendy. For their part, Wendy and Johnny enjoyed the flick and decided to put the title — In the Mood for Love — into practice. But no sooner had they gotten started than Tripp returned. Johnny did not thank him for it.
Though she wasn’t expecting him, Gwen was pleased to find Alex on her doorstep, and she didn’t seem to mind when he explained that what he was looking for with her was a “fun, no strings attached kind of thing.”
Instead, she confessed that she was “very, very happy with meaningless sex” and suggested they indulge. Alex enthusiastically agreed. In the afterglow, Alex pondered ways to get back in Maggie’s (Suzanne Rogers) good graces.
Speaking of Maggie…the last thing she wanted/needed, especially in light of having just warned Xander from associating with Gwen and allowing Alex to needle him, was Justin turning up at her office making a plea on Alex’s behalf, but that’s exactly what happened.
At Statesville prison, Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) was thrilled, and more than a little concerned to look up and see an unaccompanied Rachel standing before her. After ascertaining that Rachel had used Brady’s phone to book an uber, Kristen wondered what her daughter wanted. “This,” answered Rachel, producing the note Kristen had written in praise of Brady and Chloe’s nascent relationship.
Rachel wanted to know if her mommy was being sincere, and Kristen swore that she was…but of course, by that time Brady had already burst in and wondered likewise.
Post mommy/daughter chat, Brady got Rachel to promise to give Chloe a chance. Unfortunately for Brady, Rachel had crossed her fingers, and everyone knows it’s not really a lie if you do that.
