In today’s Days of our Lives recap, Sloan attempts to get rid of that sinking, guilty feeling by doing her utmost to get pregnant.
In addition, Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) discussed their “persons of Interest,” Leo tried and failed to impress upon Gwen (Emily O’Brien) just how bad a baddie Dimitri (Peter Porte) truly is, and news of Abe’s (James Reynolds) “passing” wreaked havoc on Johnny’s (Carson Boatman) love life. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
In spite of having just delivered an hour-long closing summation in the highest heels that she owns, Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) was ready, willing, and able to try and make Eric (Greg Vaughan) a daddy — and Eric had no complaints.
After making love, Sloan wondered aloud whether or not “it” had done the trick. Eric wasn’t too sure, but he didn’t mind trying again, and again, and again. What did concern him, however, was whether or not Sloan actually wanted to have a baby. Was she just doing this for him, because this is what she thought she needed to do to hold on to him?

Sloan swore that wasn’t the case. In fact, she’d love to be surrounded by a big family — and considering that her only sibling will soon be a guest of the state pen, her parents are dead, and she has no extended family whatsoever, if she wants a big family, she’s gotta make it herself. With Eric’s help, of course.
Also, this might be her one and only shot at redemption. If she can prove to be a good mom, then maybe she can be a good person. And Lord knows she’s been accused of being less than human.
After suitably recovering, the couple decided that a meal was in order, and Sloan suggested that Eric phone his mother. Perhaps Marlena (Deidre Hall) and John (Drake Hogestyn) would like to join them. Perhaps they could share their baby-making news.
Eric granted that the dinner invitation was a swell idea but decided they should ixnay the baby talk. Upon reaching Marlena, Eric was apprised of Abe’s supposed death. How devastating.
Sloan concurred…even if this was excellent news for her brother. After all, Colin (Jasper Newman) couldn’t have killed a man who plunged off a dock earlier that day.
Eric cast Nicole a thought. Oh, how upset she’ll be. Abe was like a father to her. How devastating. Sloan bid Eric go and see his ex. She’s going to need a friend. Eric thought that was very kind of Sloan and termed her a good person. Sloan didn’t seem to agree. How devastating.
At the DiMera mansion, an anxious Nicole tried and failed — and not for the first, second, or even third time — to make contact with EJ (Dan Feuerriegel). Where could he be? Why isn’t he answering her calls? Enter Chloe, the best friend Nicole could confide her worries in.
While she listened and heard everything that Nicole said, the real takeaway for Chloe was that Nicole had come to accept EJ just as he was. Flaws and all. If she can do that, then why can’t she accept that Chloe has done the same thing with Xander (Paul Telfer)?
In response, Nicole listed Xander’s many [many, many] crimes, then decided that maybe she had no room to judge. After some girlie talk, Nicole and Chloe parted ways, leaving the former to grouse that if the father of her baby didn’t walk into the room in the next five minutes, then she was going to scream. Cue Eric’s arrival!
Elsewhere, the hotel room he shares with her to be exact, Leo blasted Gwen for even considering Dimitri’s marriage proposal. Sure, Dimitri ticks all the boxes. He’s tall, rich, really, really handsome, and so, so romantic. But he’s also playing her. Why can’t she see that? Why can’t she see that her involvement with the man has gone from “casual and terrible to serious and alarming?”
Gwen tried to provide excuses, but Leo wasn’t having it. Maybe Dimitri wanted to marry her in order to get a green card — he is from Transylvania, is he not? [And, if not there, then perhaps “Last Chance, Iowa” or “Cut and Shoot, Texas” — real places that Leo looked up just so he could throw them around in a conversation just like this.]
Dejected Gwen blubbered that maybe, just maybe Dimitri does love her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Leo disagreed. And he’d bet his favorite rainbow chino shorts on it. Marrying that “card-carrying con man” would be akin to a “train wreck, a plane crash. A tsunami followed by a winter ice storm followed by a catastrophic typhoon.”
With that decreed [and having apparently said Dimitri’s name the magic number of times], Leo was horrified by the villain’s sudden appearance at the door. Even more disconcerting was his reason for visiting. Dimitri [who’d been warned off by Xander earlier in the day] very much wanted to know if Gwen had given any thought to the question he popped.
Despite making plans with Wendy (Victoria Grace), the moment Johnny saw a grief-stricken Chanel (Raven Bowens), he leaped into action. First, he offered her a shoulder to cry on and an ear to bend. Then, he insisted on giving her a ride back home and staying with her until her mother returned.
Meanwhile, Wendy whiled away her time with Tripp (Lucas Adams), who’d sold her on the idea of a mini-date. After their 45 minutes were up, Wendy heard from Johnny about the recent development and convinced him to stay by Chanel’s side. She was going to need a friend in her time of need. How devastating.
