In the Days of our Lives recap for September 29, 2023, Vivian’s day goes from bad to worse, but then the villainess rebounds by pumping a bullet into someone.
In addition, Alex throws himself one massive pity party (how dare Justin and Adrienne raise him from birth and give him love, affection, and a family to call his own! Those bastards!), and Gwen abusively disabuses Leo of the notion that she’s still in the dark about his and Dimitri’s involvement. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
No sooner had Vivian (Louise Sorel) invested in swatches and fabric samples and gone to the trouble of hiring people to toss Maggie’s (Suzanne Rogers) tchotchkes both at the mansion and the office than Maggie appeared brandishing Victor’s updated will…a will that makes clear that Vivian gets nothing. Nada. Zilch. Not even a crumb.
Vivian wailed and whined and insisted that she’d stand her ground. Possession is 9/10 of the law and all that. Unluckily for her, Maggie figured she’d pull such a move, and as such, she came armed with an eviction notice and a Deputy (who was well-armed) who happily escorted Vivian off the premises. (Giggle, giggle)

With nothing to lose, Vivian swung by Alex’s (Robert Scott Wilson) abode, congratulated him on his “brilliant future,” and floated the idea of the two of them ganging up against Maggie and taking over the whole company.
When Alex blanched, Vivian reminded him how his play auntie had thrown him out on his ass when he needed her and suggested it was time to return the favor. Instead, Alex showed Vivian the door.
Vivian’s next stop took her to the DiMera mansion, where she happened upon quite the sight — a frazzled Dimitri (Peter Porte), pushed to his limit by Kristen (Stacy Haiduk), holding him at gunpoint, brandishing said gun on attempted blackmailers Gabi (Camila Banus) and Stefan (Brandon Barsh).
Though less concerned about Gabi than she was about her baby boy, Vivian nonetheless pulled out her own weapon and opened fire. Dimitri was hit and down for the count.
Having already gotten quite the talking to from Sonny (Zach Tinker) — who urged him to stop wallowing in self-pity and take notice of the fact that nothing has actually changed as far as feelings go, DNA be damned! — and ridding himself of dreadful Vivian, Alex set about brooding further over his circumstances. Despite himself, the idea of taking over Titan and shaping it as he saw fit, even at Maggie’s expense, suddenly began to appeal to Alex.
In her desire to make the day the “bleakest, darkest, most hopeless” day that Dimitri and Leo ever experienced, Gwen (Emily O’Brien) readied to head to the bank and withdraw the very hefty first installment paid out by the Von Leuschner trust and abscond with it — a middle finger to the pair that she can leave with, unlike Kristen’s suggestion they just up and kill Dimitri.
Gwen also took the time to purchase a most delectable-looking banana cream pie and personally deliver it to Leo’s face! And in answer to Leo’s question, namely, “What in the name of Michael B. Jordan was that about?” Gwen hissed, “For sleeping with my husband, YOUR BASTARD!”
