In the Days of our Lives recap for Wednesday, December 6, 2023, Stefan phones the one person he knows is not at all squeamish when it comes to bloodletting.

Days of our Lives Recap Highlights

In addition, Stephanie and Everett uncovered Chad’s duplicity, Wendy and Tripp reconnected, and Harris surprised Ava with his culinary skills. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.

Man With A Plan

Surprise, surprise, surprise. Despite being in a heavily trafficked area and talking much louder than he should, Stefan’s (Brandon Barash) growling, “That bastard needs to die,” somehow got overheard by a concerned Chad. (Good thing he also didn’t hear his brother verbally pondering his life’s choices, namely phoning his “octogenarian mother to call in a hit for him.”)

Chad (Billy Flynn) assumed that the man in question was EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) and chastised Stefan. It’s not EJ’s fault that all evidence points to Gabi (Camila Banus) killing Li (Remington Hoffman). Then again, Chad knows from doing drastic things for love. Only recently he’d bought Gwen’s (Emily O’Brien) half of The Spectator just so he could fire Stephanie’s (Abigail Klein) ex. But, of course, he wasn’t going to admit to that.

Instead, when Chad inquired as to what he meant, he recalled the time he held Clyde Weston (James Read) at gunpoint. Yeah, Stefan really wishes that Chad had just shot the SOB. But, since he’s not going to admit that Clyde is ransoming Gabi’s safety in Statesville, he instead recalled how he too loved Abby and wishes she’d been properly avenged.

Later, Stefan managed to make contact with Vivian to ask she sic Ivan on Clyde. Too bad, son. She outright denied the request. Turns out she’s still mighty peeved that Gabi turned her in to the police. That’s fine. Stefan will just take care of Clyde himself. Somehow.

Extra, Extra

Meanwhile, Stephanie swung by Everett’s (Blake Berris) with what she hoped would be most welcomed news. Thanks to Chad intervening on his behalf, he now has a job offer from Jack and Jennifer to work at their Boston-based newspaper. They agreed that Gwen made a mistake in firing him.

But wait! Everett has news of his own. Gwen didn’t have him fired. In fact, she no longer has her stake in the newspaper. Curious!

Everett and Stephanie got down to the business of finding out who Gwen sold to and got as far as learning that her shares were purchased by a shell corporation. Enter Steffy’s Uncle Shane to get the two across the finish line. Boy were they surprised to see Chad’s name pop up. And boy was Steff fuming — which Chad found out for himself when the two ran into each other in the town square.

Togetherness

Having finally returned from attending Li’s (Remington Hoffman) memorial service, Wendy (Victoria Grace) practically collapsed into Tripp’s (Lucas Adams) arms, her cheeks drenched in tears. Why did that no good, very bad Gabi have to kill her brother? Sure, Li was a massive screw-up who made some pretty terrible mistakes, but if he’d gotten the right help, he could have made something of himself. Now it’s too late. Damn her!

Talk soon turned to Ava (Tamara Braun) and her recent plight and how Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) is proving to be just what the doctor ordered. Afterward, Wendy and Tripp attempted to settle in for a night of poker but decided to head to the bedroom for some horizontal reconnecting.

Law & Disorder

Over at The Bistro, Harris surprised Ava with his take on seafood linguine with white wine sauce. Bravissimo! Lip service was given to Harris’s lost keys and how that may have resulted in a drug dealer walking free, but a guilt-riddled Ava assured her man that he wasn’t to blame. And he wasn’t. She was. Well, her and Stefan, but she wasn’t about to admit to that.

Opposite, following a telling off from Mayor Price (Jackée Harry), Jada (Elia Cantu) and Rafe (Galen Gering) retired for the evening and decorated her Christmas sapling. (No, not a euphemism. The couple only headed for the mattress after they’d hung the ornaments on the young tree’s barely developed branches).
