In the Days of our Lives recap for October 6, 2023, Emily O’Brien’s Gwen leaves for pastures new while Emily O’Brien’s Theresa makes her presence known.
In addition, Vivian and Dimitri find themselves in dire straits, and Alex begins his tenure at Titan as the new Chief Executive Officer. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
Upon coming to, a groggy Dimitri (Peter Porte) was surprised to find Gwen (Emily O’Brien) hovering beside his hospital bed — and even more surprised to hear her hiss that he was a bastard, an absolute dirtbag, and that she was surprised that no one had shot him sooner.
Gwen went on to detail how she’d uncovered the affair that Dimitri and Leo (Greg Rikaart) engaged in and that she was well aware of the Von Leuschner trust. What’s more, she’s not prepared to accept Dimitri’s apology.

What she was prepared to do, however, was separate Dimitri from his “magic penis” with a scalpel she swiped from a medical tray. That would show him — and Leo to boot.
Luckily for Dimitri, Leo, fresh off a confrontation with Kristen (Stacy Haiduk), who swore she had nothing to do with her nephew’s predicament, arrived in the nick of time.
Try as he might, Leo couldn’t convince Gwen to forgive him and let bygones be bygones, but he did prevent her from hacking and slashing his lover. Unsure of where to go from there, Gwen was soon convinced by Kristen to head to Alamainia to make nice with her in-laws, especially in light of Dimitri’s mounting legal woes (more on that below).
In due course, Gwen was packed and at Salem’s very own international airport (doesn’t every midwestern city have one?) bidding it all goodbye. And just as Gwen stepped out of frame, Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Theresa appeared, fresh off their return flight from L.A., with the latter looking decidedly different from the last time she was seen.
With Vivian (Louise Sorel) threatening her position as Stefan’s (Brandon Barash) right-hand-woman, Gabi (Camila Banus) took the opportunity provided by Jada’s (Elia Cantu) visit to present to her the weapon that had been used to shoot Dimitri and finger her mother-in-law as the culprit.
But just to prove that she wasn’t ungrateful, Gabi did back up Stefan and Vivian’s story about her saving the two from a gun-toting Dimitri and even agreed to press charges against the villain for attempted murder. Still, the truth outing meant that Vivian had to make tracks. Back to Alamainia, she goes! As for Dimitri, he was placed under arrest and read his rights. (You win some, you lose some.)
Over at Titan, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) delighted in clearing Vivian’s junk from the CEO desk, only to learn that with Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) exercising his position as head of the company, she was out of a job. Rather than bow out gracefully, and despite seeing her beloved Victor in him, Maggie hurled some rather pointed insults — womanizer, grandiose, full of himself, callous — before stomping out.
