The DAYS recap for Tuesday, January 3, 2023, sees a most heinous truth being revealed and the doling out of physical punishment.
DAYS Recap Highlights
In this episode, Sarah Horton Cook (Linsey Godfrey) rats out her husband and reevaluates her marital status, Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) rhapsodizes about his new buddy and reconciles with his husband, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) relishes a day out with Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and his brood, and Alexander Neil Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) really rather steps in it. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Days of our Lives Recap: Lend Her Your Ear
Poor Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers). Poor, blissfully ignorant, the embodiment of Pollyanna — Maggie Horton Kiriakis. First, she learns from Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and Bonnie Lockhart Kiriakis (Judi Evans) that Xander lied about having a job at a pharmaceutical start-up — which in and of itself was bad enough — but then Sarah came barging into the mansion to announce that Xander had indeed been the one to ladynap Bonnie and Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) — the latter on Ava Vitali’s (Tamara Braun) orders no less.

But how can this be, poor Maggie and poor Bonnie wondered? Wasn’t it only a few days prior that Bonnie and Xander were being menaced by the same mask-wearing sadist who’d traumatized Bonnie in the first place?
Sure was — BUT Justin has an explanation. Coincidentally, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) had phoned earlier that morning to say that a sliver of latex padding had been found at the scene of the latest hostage site. So, you see, a tiny person could have been made to look like a big person.
Sarah’s pretty darn sure that Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) is Xander’s accomplice, and Leo Stark (Greg Rikarrt) — the actual guilty party who had wondered in — breathes a sigh of relief…then makes a beeline for his bestie to warn her of recent developments.
DOOL Recap: Letting Your Fists Do The Talking
At the episode’s beginning, Xander was in a bad way, but thanks to some platitudes offered by Gwen — plus a healthy dose of tough love — he quickly rallied around and resolved to win back the wife, who was busy explaining to mumsy that she planned to seek a divorce from the scoundrel who repeatedly lied to her face.
Before Xander could make any real effort, he was greeted by Justin and Bonnie, and the fist that Bonnie introduced to his gut. It was a low blow — literally and figuratively. And it hurt too.
DAYS Recap: Agree To Disagree
Sonny and Will Horton (Chandler Massey) have achieved rapprochement and set about making up the old-fashioned way, but it was a long and winding process that ended with a bit of a stalemate. Will doesn’t want Sonny to be friends with Leo — and he especially doesn’t want Sonny to offer Leo sanctuary. Sonny intends to be Leo’s friend until the end — or until he does something else that Sonny terms unforgivable — and he also intends to see to it that Leo has a roof over his head. But other than that, the couple is back on great terms.
DOOL Recap: Line In The Sand
The highlight of Alex’s day was the dream he had in which Stephanie presented him with a wreath decorated with condoms. It was all decidedly downhill from there, what with him waking up to impish Leo propped up in his bed complaining about the selection of toothpaste and catching sight of Stephanie frolicking in the park with Chad and the children he remembers only when it’s convenient for him.
Taking his love rival to the side, Alex made it clear that he and Stephanie were an item, and he’d appreciate it if Chad respected that. An eavesdropping Stephanie was PO’d, and made that perfectly clear to Alex.
