DAYS Recap For January 10: Gabi’s Shocked To Find Stefan At Her Door

The DAYS recap for Tuesday, January 10, 2023, sees a plethora of pathetic ponderings — whining by another name.

In this episode, Stefan O. DiMera (Brandon Barash) got a stunning update, Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) made a plea, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) went gunning for Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) — literally — and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) took it upon himself to prove invaluable to the Salem Police Department. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.

Days of our Lives Recap: Much To Be Desired

Having returned from Miami, Gabi Hernandez Shin-For-The-Short-Term (Camila Banus) got down to the business of feeling sorry for herself and pretending to care about what was going on in her brother’s life. And that’s not to say that Gabi was sad to hear that Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) signed away his marriage, but…hello, the love of her life was conditioned to hate her by the man she just got done pledging her troth to.

Speaking of Li, that awful, despicable, very bad man, he came calling on Gabi and did his utmost to convince her that what he did wasn’t exactly that bad. When that failed to fly, he changed tactics and attempt to convince Gabi that she would have done exactly the same as him if the roles were reversed, so doesn’t that prove that they’re meant to be? One schemer loves another and all that. Nice try, but no cigar!

Later, after pelting Li with baked goods and slamming the door in his face, and cleaning up the resulting mess, Gabi was surprised to find Stefan at her door. What did he want? Well, he found out something earlier (read below).

DOOL Recap: Truisms

The cat is well and truly out of the bag. Despite spending weeks and weeks insisting that he and Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) keep mum about Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) and what he did to Stefan, Johnny just outed with the whole thing. Well, mostly.

He told Stefan how Rolf did indeed brainwash him, and how the mad doctor had confessed all to Gabi and then drugged her into forgetting. And how did Johnny know? Because Rolf told him and tried to do the same thing to him that he did to Gabi.

What Johnny failed to disclose, however, was that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) was well aware of the subterfuge and had decided to say nothing. For this, EJ was truly grateful.

DAYS Recap: All Roads Lead To Jakarta

Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) and Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) are dead, Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) is well on her way to joining them, and the majority of Salemites are desperately seeking a rare orchid that holds the key to saving her.

In an effort to hurry the search along, Eric held Kristen at gunpoint and demanded she ‘fess up to her bulb-hiding shenanigans, but he failed to get anywhere thanks to meddlesome Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).

Thanks for that, quipped Kristen. Get the hell out of this penthouse, and out of my sight, snarled Brady. But where will I go, queried Kristen. Hell, suggested Brady.

Elsewhere, upon being alerted to the search for the orchid and the need to synthesize a cure from it, Johnny wondered if it wouldn’t just behoove everyone if Rolf and his expertise were on hand. To that end, he heads to the cop shop and offers up Rolf’s location.

DOOL Recap: All The Rest

* Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) is back in Salem, and more confused than ever — and that’s really saying something. The only thing that she does know for sure is that she doesn’t want to work for a monstrous bastard like Li. She quits! She’d also rather not see Brady, but that’s easier said than done, considering he’s now in her hotel room begging her to hear him out.

* Like her bestie, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), isn’t sure of her next move, but she’s pretty certain that she should swear off men for the conceivable future…especially if their initials are E.J.

* Kristen is down, but she’s not out. Well, she is out of Chez Black, but no matter. She’ll just ensconce herself in the family stronghold…whether EJ likes it or not. He doesn’t.
