Bonnie finally figures it out!

The DAYS recap for Friday, December 9, 2022, sees an inconvenient, previously repressed memory bubbling to the surface.

DAYS Recap Highlights

In this episode, a distraught Bonnie Lockhart Kiriakis (Judi Evans) remembers exactly who it was that trussed her up in a garden shed. Elsewhere, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) went foraging for employment and nourishment, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) worked overtime to convince himself that he wasn’t ready to move on from his late wife, and Alexander Neil Kiriakis’s (Robert Scott Wilson) night of romancing Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) ended before it even got started. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.

Days of our Lives Recap: Faux Pas

Bonnie isn’t doing well at all, and not even a night out with girlfriends Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) and Sarah Horton Cook (Linsey Godfrey) can calm her. If anything, the planned night of imbibing coquitos — that’s coconut milk spiked with rum…or something to that effect — dialed Bonnie’s Post-Tramatic-Stress up to an 11 and resulted in her clobbering poor innocent Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) about the face with a serving tray because she envisioned him as the terrifying clown that napped her!

DOOL Recap: Feeling Blue

It’s Chad’s last day as an employee at Stephanie Johnson Public Relations — or so he thinks — and he couldn’t be more torn up about it if he tried. Luckily, he’s really good at hiding his feelings…NOT!

Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) knew right away that all was not well with his main man, and he insisted that Chad unburden himself. Chad obliged; Sonny quickly deduced that Chad had feelings for Stephanie that he wasn’t ready to admit to because doing so seemed an insult to Abigail Deveraux DiMera’s (Marci Miller) memory. Still, Sonny warned Chad against not expressing what he felt in his heart. If he holds out too long, he’ll lose his chance.

Too late for that, declared Chad. Steph’s already moving on with that…that…with Alex. It’s none of Chad’s business anyway, what does he care? Better question, why is Sonny giving Leo the time of day? Don’t they all still hate him? Isn’t Leo still the absolute worst?

Yes, and no, proffers Sonny. At least Leo is a good hang, unlike Sonny’s husband, who can’t be bothered to put his work on hold to come visit over the holidays. To be quite frank, Leo’s company is preferable to Will Horton’s (Chander Massey) at the minute.

DAYS Recap: Business V. Pleasure

Stephanie is a woman of many talents but balancing her professional and private lives isn’t one of them. No sooner has she gotten Alex hot and bothered, half-undressed, and halfway to her bedroom than she’s forcing him to get dressed and asking him to exit stage left so she can get down to the business of drafting a press release detailing Paulina Price Carver’s (Jackée Harry) intention to step down as governor. And who should Steph call for an assist but her good pal Chad? He’s happy to dump his dinner with Sonny to go help Stephanie, and when she puts her hand on his shoulder, Chad realizes he still feels…things.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Spilling The Tea

Leo is in desperate need of a J.O.B. So desperate, in fact, that he’d stoop to washing dishes. But before demeaning himself, he first tries to convince Gwen to hire him as a gossip columnist at The Spectator. He’s already got reams of articles ready to go — “Salem Spicy Senior Citizen Julie Williams Questioned By Police In Connection With Geriatric Crime Sprees. Spoiler Alert: She Stole A Stole” is unarguably his best — and the perfect nom de plume: Lady Whistleblower. Gwen thanks him for the effort — kind of — and promises to put in a good word with Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford), then encourages Leo to apply for service work.

After that exhaustive back and forth about employment, the besties got together to discuss their personal life. Leo might be crushing hard on Sonny, and Gwen might be thisclose to snagging Xander back from goody-two-shoes Sarah. They’re both super happy for each other.

DOOL Recap: Something Familiar

Xander is in a bit of a pickle, thanks to Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) insisting on helping him sue Renax — which doesn’t really exist — for wrongful termination, so who else does he turn to but Gwen — she’ll dummy up some paperwork for him in a jiffy and meet him in the park.

Unlucky for Xander, Bonnie chances upon him at the rendezvous point and overhears his private rantings and ravings, and recognizes his voice as belonging to her captor!
