The DAYS recap for Wednesday, December 14, 2022, sees a mentally unsound villainess planning on making a sure-to-be-memorable memorial all the more so.
In this episode, Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) filled “Charlie” (Mike Manning) in on her latest brainwave. Elsewhere, Nicole Walker Soon-To-No-Longer-Be-Hernandez (Arianne Zucker) bore severe judgment, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) conscripted Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) in his efforts to take EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) down, and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) made sure that they were on the same page. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
After spying on the goings on at the main house — which mostly consisted of EJ FINALLY touching base with Susan Banks’s (Stacy Haiduk) hunk, a hunk of burning love — Ava skulked back to her hidey hole at the DiMera crypt and set about explaining to her vision of her dead son exactly what she had planned for EJ…which was a painful, fiery death courtesy of the bomb she’s poised to plant at the church hosting his mother’s memorial.

And what of the other attendees? Well, they’ll just have to burn as well. After all, the majority of the people there have also wronged Ava in some way, either in reality or in her sick, twisted fantasies.
Nicole’s day started with such promise…more precisely, it started with her dreaming that Eric came back to forgive her and welcome her back into his arms, but after coming to, she did have a lovely conversation with former stepson Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) who reminded her how swell she is. And funny. Gosh, Nicole is funny.
Off that morale booster, Nicole headed downstairs for breakfast only to run into Rafe, who’d come to question EJ about the circumstances surrounding Susan’s death — AGAIN! To say that Rafe was far from pleased to find his estranged missus shacking up with EJ would be an understatement.
But Nicole’s quickly-spiraling day was only just beginning. Next, it was off to the Brady Pub, where Nicole intended to have a few — probably choice — words with Jada, but Jada had left for work. Since Nicole was there, and neither one of them had anything better to do, Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) gave her side-eye and a whole lot of condescension. For his part, Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) tried to keep the peace, but he wasn’t above letting Nicole know that, hey, she’d screwed up. Big time.
And while he and Kate had Nicole there, Roman wondered if Nicole had any idea where Eric was — they were worried sick, and any news would be good news at this point. Nicole wasn’t exactly sure…but she had a good idea.
Speaking of Eric, he and Sloan spent the morning *ahem* getting to know one another in a variety of very personal ways. They also made sure to express what they each expected to come from their newfound “relationship.” The consensus: lots and lots of pure, wild, unbridled, and passionate sex, and zero emotional attachment. Cheers to that! The bummer: Nicole interrupting their post-shower play.
Steve is back in Salem and on a mission: bring EJ to justice for his kidnapping of Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams)…would Jada and Rafe be interested in lending an assist? They would? Most excellent!
