In the Days of our Lives recap for Monday, December 4, 2023, Dimitri decides to do the right thing…perhaps for the first time in his life.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Sloan feared that her chickens were about to come home to roost, and Tate decided to take advantage of a Holly-related situation. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
Body Of Proof
At the Salem Police Department, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) blanched. Why should he let Leo (Greg Rikaart) go just because Dimitri (Peter Porte) promised to turn himself in? A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush and all that.
Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) countered with a saying of her own: why go after the little guppy when you can catch the big fish? Oh, and Dimitri’s not confessing to murder. That’s off the table. He knew she knew, and even EJ knew that he’d never make that charge stick. But, what he could do is level so many other charges against his nephew that he’ll spend most of the rest of his life behind bars. Win/win.

When apprised that EJ was drawing up a deal for him as he and his counselor spoke, Leo told Sloan to shred the papers. He didn’t want the deal. And, it was purely selfless. He couldn’t stand the thought of Dimitri and his magical anatomy in jail. It was making him misty. The jail part to be precise. Sloan rolled her eyes and insisted to Leo that, if someone loved you this much, the least he could do was do the gracious thing and accept it.
Opposite this, Dimitri opened his motel room door to Darius Rose AKA Jackie Cox AKA the man that Leo married, schemed with, and then ultimately dumped for “alta cocker closet case” Craig Wesley. (And by the way, “alta cocker” is Yiddish for an elderly person, just so you know.)
Darius wanted revenge on his ex. Sweet, sweet revenge. In all, he wanted to see him get screwed. “And, the best place for him to get screwed is prison.” Meow! Of course, Darius’s plan rested on Dimitri’s hunky shoulders. First and foremost, he couldn’t turn himself in to the police. Second, he’d have to dress in drag so Darius could smuggle him across the Canadian border.
Dimitri passed. Hard pass. Instead of doing the selfish thing, he waltzed into the SPD’s interrogation room surprising EJ, Leo, and especially himself.
Date With Destiny
Over at University Hospital, Eric (Greg Vaughan) made it abundantly clear to Nicole (Arianne Zucker) that he didn’t believe his baby was her son. No offense. But, of course, offense was taken. Nicole bellowed that she’d seen her son take his first breath and that she’d touched him, held him. She knows that bundle of joy is rightfully hers. (Find out more about that here.)
How? Asked Eric. How did he wind up with him then? “Easy,” offered Nicole. “Your wife probably stole him.” Or, she had someone on the inside. Nicole herself once stole a baby from another woman and passed it off as her own so Sloan could too.
Upon being alerted to the DNA test being run, Sloan raced over to the hospital leaving Leo to his own devices. Surely, he could sign the deal offered to him by EJ and wait for Dimitri to show on his own.
Nicole made a pointed comment about her rival arriving like a bat of Hell, and even Eric questioned why his wife objected so strenuously. Besides, said objections were moot. The results of the testing were in.
Trial & Error
At the Brady Pub, rather than out her crush on him, Holly (Ashley Puzemis) filled Johnny (Carson Boatman) in on the goings on with her mother and Eric. After giving the sad matter lip service, Johnny turned and steered the conversation to him and Chanel (Raven Bowens). (Goodie! Holly’s favorite subject.)
Would his stepsister be willing to help him throw a party in honor of what would have been his and Chanel’s first wedding anniversary? He could definitely use a woman’s touch. Holly bit her tongue and then happily agreed.
Soon Chanel was back on the scene, and she had something she wanted to discuss with Holly. Namely, her obvious crush on Johnny. She saw it with her own two eyes. Holly is smitten. And, she got it. She didn’t blame her. Johnny is a great guy. But, there were problems. 1) He’s way too old for her. 2) The ick factor with their semi-family status. 3) He’s taken. Very taken.
Holly swore that Chanel was off-base. In fact, she’s crushing on Tate (Jamie Martin Mann). However, they can’t be together because of Brady (Eric Martsolf) and his stupid rules. Enter Tate to correct her. Who cares what his dad says? Of course, they can date! (Great! Just what Holly wanted to hear.)
