In the Days of our Lives recap for November 21, 2023, Chanel does her utmost to warn Johnny that Holly is crushing on him something fierce.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Ava threw herself on the mercy of the justice system (practically kicking and screaming the whole way), Sloan’s conscience continued to grow much like the Grinch’s heart, and Nicole and EJ mourned the loss of “their” baby. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
On The Other Hand
Having tried and failed to lift her mother’s spirits with her favorite pizza, a dejected Holly (Ashley Puzemis) returned to the DiMera mansion. Luckily for her, Johnny (Carson Boatman) — who’d just welcomed Chanel (Raven Bownes) back from Maryland and sent her off to the kitchen — was on hand to offer her comfort.

In no time flat, Holly’s tears dried and she thanked Johnny for his kind words. She just didn’t know what she’d ever do without him. Chanel entered and, despite taking stock of the scene before her, offered Holly her condolences and asked after her and Nicole (Arianne Zucker).
Once Holly took her leave, Chanel informed Johnny that the young woman was crushing on him. HARD. But, Johnny didn’t see it. Besides, she’s like his little sister, and he was positive she felt likewise. What’s more, she was very recently crushing on someone else. Someone much, much older. His dad to be precise.
Sticky Situation
Meanwhile, Harris (Steve Burton) asked Ava (Tamara Braun) to explain to him what he’d just walked in on. Did his eyes deceive him, or was Gil (David S. Lee) lying dead on the kitchen island? And, is it exactly what it looks like? Did he try to assault her? Yes, yes it’s exactly what it looks like.
Ava recounted how Gil came to be in a pool of his own blood, conveniently leaving out the whole Gil was the go-between for her and big bad Clyde Weston (James Read). At Harris’s urging, Ava allowed herself to be brought down to the Salem Police Department — not that she had much faith her story would be believed.
After all, Gabi (Camila Banus) had trusted the process and looked where that got her. If there was anyone that the new D.A. hated more than Gabi, it was her. Harris relayed that he did have some good news. Thanks to a background check that he ran on Gil weeks earlier, he knows that the man had been charged with past drug offenses. It’s not exactly a smoking gun, but it does prove that the guy was shady as all get out.
Baby Come Back
After narrowly avoiding Eric (Greg Vaughan) hearing her and Melinda (Tina Huang) scheming over the phone, Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) delighted in Eric’s delight at becoming a father. Less pleasing was his desire to go and visit Nicole at University Hospital.
Once Eric made his exit, Sloan headed over to the hotel room that Melinda booked and met the baby they’d stolen. It was love at first sight…and, it made Sloan forget all the guilt she felt for her crime Well, nearly all.
Baby Blues
Meanwhile, Chad (Billy Flynn) recalled his own struggles with grief for EJ’s benefit. Eric found himself forced to explain to Nicole why God had done this to her. The platitudes did little to put the grieving mother at ease, though she and EJ did eventually manage to mourn together rather than push each other away.
