In the Days of our Lives recap for October 9, 2023, teen terror “Tatter Tot” Tate took in his new surroundings and found them seriously lacking.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Stephanie got on the same page with Alex while failing to do likewise with Chad, as Maggie did her utmost to bolster Justin’s spirits. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
Days of our Lives Recap: Terms And Conditions
At Salem’s very own international airport, Brady (Eric Martsolf) groused at Theresa (Emily O’Brien) for overpacking and Tate (Jammie Martin Mann) for being…well…let’s say an “enraptured” 16-year-old who didn’t want to pull himself away from an attractive flight attendant.
Soon father and son were crossing swords over the “bogus reasons” that Tate was expelled from his school — AKA pulling the fire alarm during an exam and causing the building to flood, courtesy of the sprinklers.

Speaking of that criminal damage, Brady expected Tate to reimburse every penny spent on the cleanup. And, how best to do that than get a job? But not just any old job, a job at the Brady Pub, where he’d work under the watchful eyes of his Great Uncle Roman (Josh Taylor).
Soon the trio were at the family establishment, catching up with Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Bonnie (Judi Evans). Theresa played dumb when the subject of Victor’s attaché case was brought up, and Brady couldn’t contain his shock at learning that Victor had claimed Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) as his son. Tate, for his part, just wondered if the revelation changed who Victor was to him. No, no it did not.
DAYS Recap: Choose Responsibly
Meanwhile, Stephanie (Abigail Klein) burst into what she believed to be Vivian’s (Louise Sorel) office, full of fire and brimstone, and tendered her resignation. Color her shocked to see the chair spin around and Alex suddenly appear.
Stephanie had a multitude of questions, and Alex helpfully provided the answers. After being apprised, Stephanie offered her sympathies and echoed what so many had already said: Victor being Alex’s father doesn’t really change things. Also, she had no intention of abandoning the ship now. She and Alex have figured their stuff out and are friends so there won’t be a problem.
Chad (Billy Flynn) did his utmost to convince Kate (Lauren Koslow) not to be her normal overbearing and interfering self and to just accept Philip’s (John-Paul Lavoisier) plan to join Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) in New York. Instead of actually getting anywhere, Chad eventually found himself confiding how he was feeling the push to make things even more permanent with Stephanie.
When Stephanie arrived and it was just the two of them, Chad broached the subject and wondered if there really was a need to rush things — like, say, marriage — and Stephanie assured him that there absolutely was not. Unfortunately, her lips said one thing and the rest of her face said another.
DOOL Recap: We Are Family
Over at the Kiriakis abode, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) relayed her and Alex’s parting ways at Titan to Justin (Wally Kurth), leaving him steaming. What was his not son thinking?!
To her credit, Maggie also shared how Alex had offered to keep her on in a supporting role and how it had ultimately been her decision to step away entirely.
Justin huffed that he was appalled by Victor and what he’d done to the family. Maggie reminded him of Mike Horton’s sordid paternity and how, despite the damage wrought by the secret coming out, Mike and Mickey remained as close as father and son. That can happen to Alex and Justin. Biology doesn’t matter.
And in the spirit of family togetherness, Maggie insisted that Justin and Bonnie return to living at the estate. Before long, Bonnie was there, suitcases in hand.
