The Days of our Lives recaps for February 13 – 17, 2023, featured a plethora of shady dealings, a number of exits, two awkward Valentine’s Day dinners, and so much more.
After a run-in with a grief-stricken and furious Johnny (Carson Boatman), Xander (Paul Telfer) thinks better of his plan to wrestle control of The Spectator away from Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer. However, a subsequent cross with Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Rex (Kyle Lowder) — during which they make a point of recounting their night of passion — puts him back on a vengeful path.
Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) is forced to take cover when Chanel (Raven Bowens) returns to the apartment that she and Allie (Lindsay Arnold) share. The estranged ladies make up, but Alex’s phone rings, and he is eventually forced to reveal himself. At Chanel’s urging Allie comes clean — she and Alex slept together the night previous. Chanel ends things with Allie.
Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Wendy (Victoria Grace) received some solid relationship advice from, respectively, Paulina Price Carver (Jackée Harry) and Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus). After running into one another, Johnny and Wendy decide to head back to his place for dinner and a movie.
It’s Valentine’s Day in Salem…Stefan’s (Brandon Barash) attempts to drug EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) for a second time are stymied by Chad’s (Billy Flynn) arrival. The youngest DiMera gets his hand on the spiked drink but takes one sip, declares it too strong, and pours it down the nearest drain…
Brady (Eric Martsolf) wiles away his time leaving begging voicemails for Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin). Nicole (Arianne Zucker) reveals that she and Chloe have been in touch and suggests that Brady give Chloe the space she so obviously needs…Li (Remington Hoffman) reaches out to Gabi but is summarily rebuked…Stefan calls Gabi and requests her company for the evening. All goes smoothly until he attempts to declare his love and winds up calling her Chloe!
EJ talks Nicole into going out to dinner with him. They score a reservation at The Bistro and are chagrined to see Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) and Eric (Greg Vaughan) seated nearby…Stephanie (Abigail Klein), Chad, Thomas (Cary Christopher), and Charlotte spent the holiday together.
Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) manages to make contact with Steve (Stephen Nichols) and apprise him of the difficulties she, Marlena (Deidre Hall), and Kate (Lauren Koslow) are facing in the beyond. Tripp (Lucas Adams) dismisses his father’s claim as nothing more than a grief-induced hallucination.
An incredulous Gabi blasted Stefan for his slip of the tongue, flung a glass of wine at his torso, and beat a hasty retreat. Against her better judgment, Gabi wound up at Li’s door. Though he does find amusement in Gabi’s tale of woe, Li manages to bolster Gabi’s spirits and she accepts his offer to share his supper.
The air in The Bistro is thick with tension. EJ and Nicole decamp to the DiMera manse and Sloan and Eric go back to her abode. While Sloan and Eric get busy, EJ and Nicole decide to take their romance to the next level and do likewise…Stefan bemoans his predicament to Wendy and Johnny.
Satan agrees to the deceased trio’s request to parley but insists it be a one-on-one with Marlena. The rouge takes the form of Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) and ponders Marlena’s vehement criticisms of his deployed subterfuge. He then declares that he’ll null and void Kate and Kayla’s contracts in exchange for Marlena remaining by his side for the rest of eternity.
Nick Fallon (Blake Berris) delights in filling Kate and Kayla in on John (Drake Hogestyn), Roman (Josh Taylor), and Steve’s plot to murder Orpheus (George DelHoyo). The men put said plot into action. At Statesville, Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) puts on a drunk act to fool Orpheus, the guard he has in his pocket, and to get himself rushed to the infirmary. Once inside, he opens a door for John and Steve.
Sonny (Zach Tinker) surprises Will (Chandler Massey) with some most welcome news: he and Arianna Grace are tagging along to New Zealand. Overhearing the husbands’ discussion, Allie adds herself and Henry to the list of adventurers.
Marlena accepts Satan’s offer, but Kayla and Kate refuse to ascend without her….Nick delights in filling Kayla and Kate in on John, Steve, and Roman’s murderous intentions…Kate manages to contact Roman and steer him in the right direction…Steve and John incapacitate Orpheus and detail their plan to permanently rid themselves of him. Orpheus offers a trade: his life for the name of the person who absconded with the life-saving orchid.
